The wrap-around motor design shall be based on the mill design, taking into consideration the following: Torque transmission directly to the mill shell, not through torque tubes. Stability of the mill as a result of mill (including bearings) stiffness and motor stator stiffness. Reference of thermal expansion of mill and stator at the same level. Axial shifting capability of stator for maintenance and inspection purposes. Minimum floor-space requirements

b.

The stator assembly shall be fabricated and shipped in as few pieces as practical, considering the available transport facilities from Manufacturers location to the jobsite, and the facilities at the site installation. Bidder shall state the number and location of proposed shipping splits in their proposal, based on the site information given with this inquiry. Stator frame and enclosure shall be of welded steel plate and sheet, to form a rigid, self supporting and torsion resistant assembly after installation. The maximum magnetic pull that occurs during starting and maximum permissible rotor eccentricity shall not cause any permanent distortion of the stator. Bidder shall indicate in their proposal the limit values for magnetic pull and eccentricity and the spring constants of the stator assembly. The stator structure shall have adequate facilities for lifting, leveling, aligning, and anchoring the entire stator. For maintenance purposes it shall either be possible to move the entire stator assembly axially, or to give access to both, stator coils and rotor poles during maintenance and/or repair. Bidders shall indicate the above facilities in their preliminary outline drawings that are part of their proposal. Type of motor enclosure shall be totally enclosed, water - air cooled IP54 (TEWAC).
