Political, Dialogue and Cooperation

First Meeting of The Indonesia Germany Advisory Group (IGAG) 2012/2013 Annual consultations among high-ranking senior officials of the Indonesian Foreign Ministry and the German Federal Foreign Office; and the IndonesiaGermany Steering Committee Regular Expert Talks for Security Policy Experts Regular Dialogue between the Policy Planning Units of the Federal Foreign Office (Germany) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Indonesia) Diplomatic Training Programmes of the Federal Foreign Office for young Indonesia diplomats Continuing and maintaining the security dialogue through the Indonesia-Germany Defence Dialogue (IGDD) and monitor, manage and review the bilateral cooperation in the area of Defence and Security Policy Intensified police cooperation: Continued provisions of training courses at the Jakarta Center for Law Enforcement Cooperation (JCLEC), funded and organized by the German Federal Criminal Police (BKA) Enhancing Cooperation in regional fora such as: EU-ASEAN Dialogue and AsiaEurope Meeting (ASEM) as well as the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) ARFOSCE Enhancing consultations in the United Nations and G-20, and other multilateral settings, as well as international processes Specific Programmes of Bilateral Visits co-organised by the Federal Government and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia

Trade, Investment and Development

Enhancing and intensifying existing cooperation within the framework of WTO

Bilateral trade and investment promotion through stakeholder dialogues, business delegations and direct business to business support, facilitated by the German-Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (AHK/EKONID), the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN) and the relevant Indonesian government institutions of both countries. Strengthening of the bilateral cooperation between the KADIN and EKONID. Implementing Memorandum of Understanding between EKONID, KADIN,

APINDO and EuroCharm to enhance cooperation Supporting to Indonesia infrastructure development through the Partner Country Concept Indonesia at BAUMA 2013. Fostering the dialogue between the Ministry of Education schools and industry associations about Technical/Vocational Education and Training (TVET) . Technical advice for Small and Medium Sized Enterprise (SME) development Continuing support towards achieving a conducive business/investment climate through green growth strategies, human resources development

(technical/vocational training), universal healthcare coverage and the extension of social protection mechanisms to vulnerable population groups. Intensifying German ASEAN cooperation, including institutional development, through the German ASEAN Chamber Network (GACN) Developing regular dialogue on transportation Welcoming Indonesias participation in the Annual Berlin Agriculture Ministers Summit at the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture Welcoming Indonesias designation as partner country at the 2013 edition of the International Tourism Fair in Berlin Progress in the three priority areas of Indonesia Germany bilateral development cooperation, i.e. Climate Change/Sustainable Development, Private Sector Development, and Good Governance/Decentralization. Extending the range of instruments of development cooperation, for example by promoting triangular cooperation.

Education, Social and Culture

Intercultural and Interfaith dialogue: high level conferences, grass-root projects aiming at the promotion of religious tolerance

Scholarship provision at the master and doctoral level by the Indonesian and German side Intensified research cooperation and exchange between higher educationinstitutions in Indonesia and Germany Verification of mutual recognition of academic titles Promotion of German as a foreign language at Indonesian school (PASCH and BKD programmes of Goethe Institute) Promotion of the status and activities of the German International School (DIS) in Jakarta as a school of cultural and educational encounter in accordance with Indonesian law and other regulations. Establishing new multiplicator/cultural centres Cultural projects/exchanges between artists from both countries, i.e. support of the Raden Saleh exhibition in June 2012. Projects within the Cultural Preservation Programme of the Federal Foreign Office. Promotion of Indonesian cultural scholarship, Dharmasiswa and Scholarship for Indonesian Art and Cultural (BSBI) to German students Further enhancing the establishment of Indonesian Studies Centre in the Higher Education Institutions in German to support the development of Indonesian language, arts, and culture teaching IV. Environment, Climate Change, Forestry and Energy Cooperation

Cooperation in the field of Renewable Energies (Biomass, Solar, Micro Hydro, Geothermal) and Energy Efficiency (Industrial, Construction). Supporting Indonesias effort on its national climate change policy as well as Indonesias efforts to reduce emissions in the areas of forestry and urban areas

Supporting Indonesias activities to adapt to the impacts of climate change as well as to conserve biological diversity, including marine and coastal areas Deepened private sector engagement and support for the enhancement of investment frameworks for climate change mitigation. Promoting the effective integration of climate change aspects into national/subnational development planning and coordination, policy formulation and budgeting.
