General. The present calculation of Pr.B616 ships freeboard has been made in compliance with the regulations International convention on Load Lines, 1966, revised with Protocol of 1988 thereto (M-66/88) (revised in 2003) (hereinafter referred to as "Regulations"). In compliance with Regulation 27 of Chapter III of the International convention, the ship refers to type B ships. The ship shall make international voyages. The ship is of unrestricted service area.

The ships main particulars: Length overall Midship breadth Midship depth Draft The ships class Lma=71,5 m =14,5 m =4,0 m =2,5 m 1 Bulk Cargo Barge Ice Class A0

Minimal freeboard calculation. Initial requirements and definitions (regulation 3). 1. The ship's length L (regulation 3 Item 1) As to vessels having no rudder stock the length (L) should be assumed equal to 96% of WL length passing at a height equal to 85% of the shortest molded depth. Conventional (moulded) draft d1 = 0.85*Dmin, where Dmin is the least moulded depth, [m] Dmin=4.00m d1=0.85*4.00=3.40 m Total length at d1=3.40 m L=71.07 m then 0.96L=0.96*71.07=68.23 m Taken into account is L=68.23 m

2. The ships breadth (regulation 3 Item 4) is the maximum breadth measured amidships till a frame external edge in ships with metal shell plating. =14.50 m 3. Molded depth (regulation 3 Item 5) this distance measured along vertical line at vessels side from upper edge of a keel to upper edge of a beam of the freeboard deck midship: Dmin=4.00m Midship D=4.00m.

4. Effective depth D (regulation 3 Item 6) this molded depth midship plus a plate thickness (to) of the deck stringer of the freeboard deck (if available), plus the value t1=t*(L-S)/L , if a weather freeboard deck has wooden coating between superstructures, where t=0- mean thickness of wooden coating of weather plating out of deck holes, mm; S-total length of superstructures, m. Value t*(L-S)/L=0, because there is no wooden coating. t=15mm D=D+t+t1=4000+15+0=4015mm. 5. The block coefficient Cb is a coefficient determined by formula b=/(L*B*d1) , where is the volume of the ships displacement in m3 excluding plating and appendages in a ship with a metal shell taken at a moulded draft d1=3,40 m =3037 m3 Cb=3037/(68.23*14.5*3.40)=0.903 Cb=0.903 6. Calculation of freeboard

Sheets 10

For type ships, the tabular freeboard shall be determined from table 28.2 depending on length L: for L=68m Fref.=689mm for L=69m Fref.=705mm. For L=68.23 m, the reference freeboard shall be determined by linear interpolation F0=693mm

7. Corrections to the reference freeboard, taking into account variations of the ships geometric characteristics from standard 7.1. Correction for block coefficient (regulation 30) In our case b=0.903>0.68, then the basis freeboard determined according the regulation 28 and changed according to the regulation 29 should be multiplied by a coefficient determined by the following formula: 1=(b+0.68)/1.36=(0.903+0.68)/1.36=1.164 1=1.164 7.2 Freeboard correction for vessels with a length of less than 100 m (regulation 29). The basis freeboard for vessels of type and having a length from 24 up to 100m, and equipped with enclosed superstructures with designed length of less 35% than the vessels length, should be increased by the following correction, mm, F=7.5*(100-L)*(0.35-E1/L), where 1=5.17 designed length of superstructures determined without regarding boxes (see Table 1) 0.35*L=23.88m 1< 0.35*L, then F =7.5*(100-68.23)*(0.35-5.17/68.23)=65 (mm). F=F0+ F=693+65=758 (mm)

7.3. Correction for depth (regulation 31). 1.If designed depth D exceeds L/15, the freeboard should be increased b the following correction, mm, (D-L/15)R, where L/15=68.23/15=4.549m D=4.015 m L/15>D 2. If D< L/15, then the deduction should not be performed excluding those vessels equipped with enclosed superstructures extending for 0.6L midship, with a averall box or in composition of separate enclosed superstructures and boxes which extend for all vessel long. 0.6L=0.6*68.23=40.94m The deduction is not performed. 7.4. Correction for position of the deck line (regulation 32) Correction shall not be entered on the reason that the actual depth D is equal to the effective depth D D=4.015 mm.

7.6.2. Considered variation of actual sheer profile from the standard for the vessel in whole According to Table 2, our ship has sheer deficiency in the fore and aft ships halves f=-546 mm af=-273 mm. 7.6.3. Correction for variation from standard sheer profile This correction is the product of sheer lack value by the following value, mm, 0.75-S/2L, where S total enclosed superstructures length without boxes, S=9.23 (Table 1); 0.75-9.23/(2*68.23)=0.682 The correction is equal to 3=409.5*0.682=279mm and should be added to the freeboard. 3=279mm 8.inimum height fore (regulation 39) In accordance with the regulation 27.14, this regulation requirements are not applied for barge having no crew aboard.
