Phonics
Review
The students will be reviewing all twelve letters from S- D using the jolly phonics CD we will be reviewing these letters blended together. We will continue to review anything the students need extra assistance. As blending is a more challenging subject we will play Board slap -Put blended flashcards on the whiteboard and get 2 students, to stand on 2 marks on the floor that are an equal distance the board. Then the teacher shouts out some phonics and the 1st student to run to the correct flashcard, slap it correctly wins.
New (letters/sounds/vocabulary)
Providing the students are ready to move on to the next 6 letters the students will be introduced to the third set of letters g, o, u, l, f, and b. This will be introduced in the same way as previous lessons, but to vary from previous lessons I will introduce a different method to blending in the second half of the week.
Writing Practice
This week the students will continue doing writing practice in their alphabet books. Although the students are blending it is still important that students remember the individual letters.
