Company Profile
Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) is the 4th Oil Marketing Company in Pakistan to be granted a marketing license in February 1998. Though a new entrant in the field of oil marketing, APL has managed to establish its presence and reputation as a progressive and dynamic organization focusing on providing quality and environment friendly petroleum products and services in Pakistan and abroad. Its steady and substantially growing market share and customer confidence, which it enjoys, are manifestations of APL's successful policies. APL is part of the first fully integrated Oil Company of the sub-continent, APLs sponsors include Pharaon Commercial Investment Group Limited (PCIGL) and Attock Group of Companies. Pharaon Group is engaged internationally in diversified entrepreneurial activities, including Hotels, Oil Exploration, Production and Refining, Manufacturing of Petroleum Products, Chemicals, Manufacturing and Trading of Cement, Real Estate etc. The Attock Group of companies consist of The Attock Oil Company Limited (AOC), Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL), Attock Refinery Limited (ARL), Attock Petroleum Limited (APL), Attock Information Technology Services (Pvt) Limited (AITSL), Attock Cement Pakistan Limited (ACPL) etc. AOC was incorporated with limited liability in England on December 01, 1913. The company is principally engaged in exploration, drilling and production of petroleum and related activities in Pakistan. AOC is the pioneer in the oil sector in Pakistan. Its first oil discovery in Pakistan was made in Khaur district Attock in 1915. The refining operations were started in 1922 at Morgah near Rawalpindi.

Products Local Products


APL has a strong network of distribution all over Pakistan consisting of Petroleum Products and Lubricants. These products are marketed directly to the end users and through its network of distributors, enjoying a significant share of the oil market. APL commands a significant market share in petroleum products including, Furnace Oil, Light Diesel Oil, Solvent Oil, Mineral Turpentine Oil, Asphalt and Jute Batching Oil to meet the demands of the Industrial consumers

Export Products
APL commenced its exporting operations to Afghanistan in April 2003 and is also facilitating export of Naphtha to Middle East, Far East and South Asia. APL has successfully registered as a foreign Oil Marketing Company with Afghan Investment Support Agency (AISA), the only agency working under the Ministry of Commerce Afghanistan, to register and provide assistance in the reconstruction of industry in Afghanistan. APL has established a core market for its products through distribution of quality products, competitive prices and efficient delivery. Presently, products being exported include Premier Motor Gasoline, Superior Kerosene Oil, Jet Fuels, High Speed Diesel and Bitumen. We take immense pride in having met almost all bitumen requirements for the recently completed Kabul Kandahar highway. Construction on two Petrol Pumps is underway in Jalalabad, with expected commissioning by March 2005. These retail outlets will be equipped with latest state of the art technology keeping in mind international Environment, Quality, Health and Safety standards for storage and distribution of Petroleum Products. Two storage facilities are being planned initially in Kabul and Jalalabad. These facilities will ensure smooth operations and provide adequate stock for meeting the country's requirement.

Retail Outlets

APL is one of the fastest growing Oil Marketing Companies in Pakistan. Having successfully established its network of Petrol Pumps in NWFP & Punjab. APL is presently strengthening its presence in major urban areas, Karachi, Upper Punjab and Afghanistan.

Model Filling Station, Islamabad APL Outlets are fully equipped with modern hardware and best service techniques to provide extraordinary service to the customers, including CNG at selected Petrol Stations. Other facilities like Service Stations', Tyre Shop, Tuk shop, Mosques, and Rest Areas are also on-site for customers convenience and satisfaction. In order to further increase its market penetration, APL has recently entered into a hospitality arrangement with other oil marketing companies to focus on retail development in high volume generating areas, e.g. major cities and highways. In line with this objective, APL has already applied for required Non Objection Certificates (NOCs) for prime locations in Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawer. APL has more than 200 retail outlets throughout the country

Future Plans

Setting up of Storage Facility at Port Qasim Karachi, for import of High Speed Diesel and exports of Naphtha. Development of Company Financed Retail Outlets targeting high trade areas and highways, thereby further strengthening its presence and market share. Setting up of Lubricant blending plant and increasing focus on marketing of Gasoline Engine Oils and Industrial Lubricants. Development of Storage Depots locally at Mahmood Kot Multan, Machike and Tarujaba NWFP and Afghanistan to improve supply to retail outlets. Expansion of consumer base in other petroleum products locally and in Afghanistan . Increasing Storage Capacity of existing bulk oil terminal at Rawalpindi. Expansion of retail outlet network in Sindh, Upper Punjab & Afghanistan

1.Quality Policy It is the policy of Attock Petroleum Limited to provide quality products and services based on needs of our valued customers. We approach the challenge of getting customer satisfaction and loyalty by focusing on two way communication, unparalleled performance, training, learning from our group experiences and those of others, to foster continuous improvement culture in all functions of organization. To further enhance its commitment towards Quality, APL management has set the following quality objectives: 1. The primary objective of the Quality Management System is to ensure conformance to product specifications of all goods shipped to customers . 2. Clearly identify and understand our internal and external customers stated and hidden needs, to develop a way of working to meet and exceed the expectations of customers. 3. Attock Petroleum Limiteds overriding objective is to ensure that none of our activities harm our employees, the public or the environment. In order to achieve the objectives We embrace a comprehensive policy on the Environment, Safety and Health that includes: We consider that none of our activities are more important than health and safety of any individual or protection of environment. As a minimum we will comply with all relevant legislation and any other requirements to which we subscribe. We will encourage a pro-active safety culture and ensure that each employee is trained, experienced and competent to perform his or her duties. We will strive to remove all causes of accidents and events and to minimize the consequences of such if they occur. We will ensure that all our operations are performed, and seen to be performed safely. We will strive to continually improve performances in all areas of EHS performance and prioritize on the basis of risk. We will apply our EHS policy, standards, objectives and targets to our retail Outlets, Distributors, Dealers and Contractors.

Bulk Oil Terminal


Rawalpindi Bulk Oil Terminal APL has set new records of success in oil marketing activities by successfully completing and commissioning its storage terminal in a record time of less than one year at Morgah, Rawalpindi through its own resources. Rawalpindi Bulk Oil Terminal has a storage capacity of 2,400,000 Liters maintaining onsite reserves of High Speed Diesel, Motor Gasoline, Kerosene Oil, Naphtha and Furnace Fuel Oil. APL is connected with Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) through a pipeline, enabling onward product distribution efficiently and safely. This state of the art terminal is meeting the current requirements of APL and has the capability to cope with the increasing demand in the region. Latest electronic instruments have been installed for storage and dispensing facilities ensuring speedy dispensing of precise quantity and quality product to consumers. In addition we have recently revamped our calibration facility to accommodate browsers up to 60,000 liters capacity. Furthermore, Furnace Oil Storage and dispensing facilities have been provided with heat tracing arrangements to ensure quality product supplies to end users all year round.
