Latest development
 Since the introduction of iPhone and its multi-touch
capabilities, Kreateevee experimented with making affordable
multi-touch technology available beyond mobile devices,
specifically for large-format displays

 We experimented with a hosts of different hardware,

software, applications and finally ended up with a fusion of
selected open source tools, our proprietary software and
modules

 Our first commercially-viable product with this technology is

simply known as the “Multi-Touch table”

How it works?
 Hardware
 Infrared light is shined from below the touch surface
 When an object touches the surface it reflects more light than
objects in the background; the extra light is sensed by a camera
 Depending on the software, this method can also detect hover
and objects placed on the surface.

 Software
 What the camera sees - a bunch of brightly lit “blobs”

 Software tracker cleans up the image to produce a list of points

in (x, y) coordinates to be passed to the application (Creative
Content)

Content Development
 Entirely dependant on the multi-touch hardware & software
tracker
 Kreateevee’s Multi-touch table uses content developed in
Adobe Flash/Actionscript 3 with multi-touch event handlers to
detect interaction
 Existing Adobe Flash/AS3-based content can be adapted for
multi-touch / multi-user
 Development time of new application / games with our
product will be significantly reduced with the vast availability
of Adobe Flash-based content & knowledge workers

 With Kreateevee’s Multi-Touch table, content development in Flash requires
several minor changes
 The package flash.events has been extended with a ‘TouchHandler’ event
 For capturing mouse actions the initialization routine would look similar to

 A TouchEvent is thereafter processed almost similarly to a MouseEvent
 Mouse events would normally be handled like this:-

 Multi-touch events would handled like this:-

 With multi-touch, two or more touch points will trigger the same event
handler twice or more and it is up to the flash application to handle and
determine what actions should be performed with these touch points
