Latest development
Since the introduction of iPhone and its multi-touch
capabilities, Kreateevee experimented with making affordable
multi-touch technology available beyond mobile devices,
specifically for large-format displays
4
How it works?
Hardware
Infrared light is shined from below the touch surface
When an object touches the surface it reflects more light than
objects in the background; the extra light is sensed by a camera
Depending on the software, this method can also detect hover
and objects placed on the surface.
5
How it works?
Software
What the camera sees - a bunch of brightly lit “blobs”
6
Is Multi-Touch the future of interaction?
The pace of development has been incredible over the past year, we see it
working well with the RIGHT content
Multi-touch interactivity opens up new dimensions and possibilities for
human-computer interaction

Content Development
Entirely dependant on the multi-touch hardware & software
tracker
Kreateevee’s Multi-touch table uses content developed in
Adobe Flash/Actionscript 3 with multi-touch event handlers to
detect interaction
Existing Adobe Flash/AS3-based content can be adapted for
multi-touch / multi-user
Development time of new application / games with our
product will be significantly reduced with the vast availability
of Adobe Flash-based content & knowledge workers

Content Development – Brief code examples
With Kreateevee’s Multi-Touch table, content development in Flash requires
several minor changes
The package flash.events has been extended with a ‘TouchHandler’ event
For capturing mouse actions the initialization routine would look similar to
this:-
9
Content Development – Brief code examples
A TouchEvent is thereafter processed almost similarly to a MouseEvent
Mouse events would normally be handled like this:-
With multi-touch, two or more touch points will trigger the same event
handler twice or more and it is up to the flash application to handle and
determine what actions should be performed with these touch points

Complementary Technologies
Bluetooth interactivity
Proximity sensors / user tracking
Object / marker recognition
RFID interactivity

How can you be involved?
Multi-Touch technology for large format displays is a highly
untapped market with majority of content players competing
in creating content for multi-touch mobile devices
Kreateevee looking for creative companies as strategic
partners to build compelling content for this platform
