Vision: The Visayas State University Hospital as a center of excellence in health care delivery system that provides preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services and opportunities for medical education, training, research and development. Enhancement of the general well being of the populace through quality health care that is affordable, accessible, and sustainable, supported by relevant medical education, training, research, and development.

Mission:

The VSU Hospital shall provide promotive, curative and rehabilitative services to its clientele. This includes general pediatrics, general obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery (minor ambulatory clinical surgery), internal medicine, primary eye care, primary ENT, family medicine. Delivery of appropriate patient care by physicians shall be guided by the principle of providing wholistic patient care, respecting the rights and needs of patients and consistent with the code of Ethics upheld by the PMA. The physician on duty reserves the right to determine the appropriate patient care, along with the giving of proper information and advice to patient and to his/her accompanying relative(s), and in determining whether a patient is in need of further care in other facilities. A. PATIENT ADMISSION PROCEDURE AND AVAILMENT OF SERVICES

The VSU Hospital performs the following clinical laboratory procedures: Complete Blood Count (CBC), Hemoglobin and Hematocrit determination, White Blood Cells and Differential count, Platelet Count, Blood Typing, Bleeding and Clotting time, Urinalysis, Pregnancy Test, Fecalysis, and Fasting Blood Sugar/Random Blood Sugar. The VSU Hospital reserves the right to accept or refuse procedures requested depending on the availability of equipment and reagent for such laboratory procedure. Emergencies or STAT requests shall have priority over all other laboratory request.

b. Specimen for routine CBC, Urinalysis, Fecalysis etc., will be accepted at the laboratory from: 8:00 A.M. 11:00 A.M. 1:00 P.M. 4:00 P.M. c. Specimen for STAT examination will be accepted or taken any time upon presenting physicians request.
