SECTION 8 SHIP PIPELINE 81 BILGE SYSTEM One (1) bilge main pipe is to be arranged in double bottom pipe tunnel.

Port side and starboard bilge well of each cargo hold to respectively have one (1) suction whose material to be galvanized steel plate. Each bilge well suction to be separately led to pipe tunnel main by means of branch pipe joint and to be connected with bilge pump of engine room. Bilge water branch pipe to be installed remote control butterfly valve. All eduction pipes of cargo hold bilge well to be installed check valve in the vicinity of bilge well. Chain locker sewage to be drained overboard through jet dredge pump whose working water comes from fire main pipe. Bilge water of steering gear room is to flow to engine room bilge well through one (1) self-closing stop valve. Shore connection with one (1) stop valve and blind plate flange to be arranged on upper deck used for draining away engine room sludge and segregated slop in order to meet SOLAS Convention requirement. Sludge pump is to be installed emgergency stop device which to be placed in joint vicinity of slop drainage system. Cargo hold and engine room bilge well should be provided with high-level alarm. Bilge water of emergency fire pump is to be drained away by means of jet dredge pump. 82 BALLAST SYSTEM Two (2) ballast main pipes to be arranged in double bottom pipe tunnel. Each ballast main pipe is able to be separately connected with ballast tank of port side and starboard of double bottom through ballast branch pipe. Each ballast tank is to have one (1) suction. Ballast water suction is to be connected by flange and be easily dismantled. Suction surrounding structure is to have adequate drain holes. One (1) ballast water branch pipe to be connected with fore peak. Fore peak to be installed one (1) stop valve which is able to be manually operated on upper deck. Hydrodynamic or electric-hydraulic butterfly valve or ball valve is to be installed in ballast branch pipe of pipe tunnel and is able to be remotely controlled in ballast water control room. All remote control valve should be able to manually opened/closed when remote control does not work. Ballast water main pipe is to be connected with two (2) ballast pumps, one (1) fire and general service pump and one (1) bilge general service pump.The total ballast time is not to be greater than 8 hours. Topside water tank ballast water is to be pumped into by pump, the ballast water of double bottom ballast water tank is to be directly filled from sea chest in engine room. Ballast water of topside water tank is to be filled from deck filling pipe and to be directly drained away under gravity through discharge valve. The remote measuring liquid level in ballast water tank is to have reading

indication. Refer to Machinery Part for ballast pump and hydrodynamic butterfly valve. 83 AIR SOUNDING PIPE 83.1 AIR PIPE/ OVERFLOW PIPE All air pipes are to be arranged in accordance with international loadline convention requirement. All void spaces and cabins to be provided with air pipes whose terminal to be fitted with air pipe head satisfying Classification Society requirement. Oil tank air pipe head is to be adopted closeable floating type with stainless steel fireproof net, and the air pipe head of fresh water tank should be installed rat & insect proof stainless steel net. Air pipes / overflow pipes which are in water tank or exposed to wide open deck passing through water tank is to be galvanized. Overflow proof coaming plate is to be provided in the vicinity of air pipe used for oil tank, and discharge plug to be furnished as well. Cross section of air pipe/overflow pipe not to be allowed less than 125% of cross section of suction pipe in accordance with Rule requirement. All air pipes are to be arranged to keep a certain distance from outfitting parts like bollard etc. Sea chest should be provided with air pipes. 83.2 SOUNDING PIPE Each oil tank, water tank, segregated void space and chain locker are to be respectively provided with one (1) sounding pipe. The sounding pipe terminal in double bottom tank of engine room is to be approx.800mm apart from the upside of checkered steel plate with slef-closing faucet and cock of survey use. Sounding pipe, in general, to maintain straight line as far as practicable. Sounding pipe caliber size of oil tank to be 65mm, the sounding pipe caliber size of water tank, segregated void space and chain locker is to be 40mm which to be galvanized pipe same as air pipe. The sounding pipe caliber size of bilge well of cargo hold is to be 65mm. Sounding pipes are to be as straightthrough as practicable and brass faucet to be installed as well, the lower extreme is to extend to approx.50mm over bilge and bumping proof plate with 10mm in thickness is to be installed in bilge. The lowest part of sounding pipe is to be of detachable. 84 DAILY WATER SYSTEM 84.1 FRESH WATER SYSTEM Caliber size of fresh water filling pipe is not to be less than 100mm. Supply water system is to consist of one (1) fresh water hydrophore tank and two (2) electric driven fresh water pump and pipeline. One of the above mentioned two pumps is to be spare pump used for above mentioned system. Fresh water is to be sucked into by pumps from fresh water tank and fed into hydrophore tank through stop check valve. Fresh water is to supply drinking water system through drinking water sterilizer. Drinking water is to supply galley and pantry etc. Fresh water which is supplied by fresh water hydrophore tank located in engine

room is to be transported to the places required fresh water such as galley, panty, fresh water expansion tank, hot well, sink, wash basin, shower set, toilet, bathtub, laundry, provisions processing room, ward and wheelhouse front window etc. Hydrophore tank is to be made of steel plate etc. Pumps, fluid level gage, safety valve discharge joint and compressed-air pipe joint are to be furnished by Manufacturers. Automatic pressure controller is to be used for starting/stoping water pump and for maintaining the pressure required by hydrophore tank. Fresh water tank on deck to be connected to cargo hold region, each cargo hold is to be provided with one (1) fresh water valve with joint, and caliber size to be 25mm. After part of upper deck, boat deck, port side and starboard of wheelhouse to be provided with one (1) fresh water valve with joint. 84.2 HOT WATER SYSTEM Hot water circulation system is to be used for supplying hot water. Hot water system is to consist of one (1) electric/steam heating hot water tank, one (1) hot water circulation pump, main circulation pump and branch pipe. This system is to be supplied water from fresh water hydrohpore tank through check valve and hot water to be transported to the places required hot water such as galley, panty, wash basin, shower set, bathtub, laundry and ward etc. Hot water to be transported to wheelhouse front window used for flushing as well. 84.3 SANITARY SYSTEM Sanitary water is to be used in public toilet, sanitary unit and bathroom. Proper quantity of closing valves are to be provided in fresh water and sanitary system of accommodation space for the convenience of maintenance. Sanitary pipe is to be connected with fire and general service pump of engine room for emergency use. Hydrophore tank is to be made of steel plate. Liquid level gage, pressure gauge, safety valve discharge joint and compressed-air pipe are to be well furnished by the Manufacturers. Automatic pressure controller is to start/stop water pump and maintain the pressure required by hydrophore tank. 84.4 DISTILLED WATER SYSTEM Distilled water is to be led off to distilled water tank and fresh water tank from fresh water generator through water meter and salinity indicator. 85 DRAINAGE SYSTEM All decks, deck house, galley, pantry, toilets, wheelhouse and food stuff refrigerated storage are to be provided with drainage system. Accommodation space, walkway and other ambient region are to have adequate drain holes. Scuppers are to be arranged far from space ladderway. Upper deck drain hole is to have grille, and drain holes in refrigeratory are to have plugs. Drainage pipe is to be led off to open deck or overboard according to specific arrangement. Overboard drain hole is to be arranged keeping away from

accommodation ladder and pilot ladder etc. Waveproof valve is to be installed in necessary places of pipeline in accordance with the requirement of Classification Society. Soil sewage to be gathered up to sanitary-treating arrangement of engine room, however,ward sewage to be separately led off to sanitary-treating arrangement. Sewage piping arrangement is to meet the requirement that the sewage from sanitary-treating arrangement is able to be drained overboard from any shipboard. Vent pipe of sewage pipe is to be led off to open deck. The waste water of sink, wash basin, laundry equipment and drainage water of hold etc is to be drained overboard by means of waste water piping through main pipe storm valve. Floor drain is to be arranged in accessible place. The elbow bind of galley floor drain and soil water pipe is to be as big as possible. Galley drainage is to be equipped with oil remover. Funnel topside and engine room casing is to be provided with drain pipe. Drainage pipe is to be as straight as possible. 86 DECK MISCELLANEOUS COMPRESSED AIR Compressed-air pipe used for pneumatic tool and paint fog gun is to be led to forecastle deck along upper deck. Compressed air main pipe is to be DN40mm, connection pipe is to have 15mm hose connection valve, the quantity is to be arranged as follows:

Air source is to come from engine room air bottle and working compressor located in bow hydraulic pump room.
