I cannot think of a better way to support our local community than to bring our employees out here to volunteer and to provide some much-needed recycling bins to the park system, said Rik Schwarz from Coca-Cola Refreshments. We enjoy being part of this community and want to see the park system continue to flourish for many years to come. Coca-Cola is committed to expanding community recycling programs. Since 2008, the Company has placed more than 150,000 recycling bins throughout North America. This recent donation to Saint Paul Department of Parks & Recreation will add to that figure. We are really happy to accept Coca-Colas donation of these recycling bins, said Mike Hahm, director of the Saint Paul Department of Parks and Recreation. We are always looking for more ways to encourage people to recycle their bottles and cans when they visit our parks and we believe these bins will do just that. Coca-Cola has made a goal to recover and recycle, or support the recovery and recycling of, the number of bottles and cans equivalent to 50 percent of those they have placed in the market by 2015. In 2007, The Coca-Cola Company established Coca-Cola Recycling to inform its customers and employees about the importance of recycling.
