KSM 2012 Winter Showcase

The Winter Showcase was a definite success and all students did an outstanding job. If you could not make it, please check out the Showcase Highlights Video on the KSM Lessons Homepage. Thank you to the West Cobb, Woodstock, Stone Mountain, and Marietta teachers and staff members for motivating students to perform. Special Recognition goes to the Stone Mountain Teachers for the wide variety of instruments and ensembles performances: guitar, bass, violin, trumpet, cello, piano, and voice, duets, quartets, and trios. The next recital will be March 24th for beginners only! Please start preparing your students early so that we can have a packed house. The Spring Showcase will be in April for all students and teachers that would like to participate. Guitar, Bass, Percussion teachers please encourage your students to perform so we have varied instrumentation. The deadline for student registration is March 15th. In addition to student performances on the Spring Showcase, I hope to have a Teacher Band perform as well. Parents and students will definitely enjoy seeing their teacher get on stage and jam! If you are interested please let me know.

UPCOMING

This summer we will have an in-house Summer Camp comprised of group lessons and ensemble classes on various topics. Some of the classes that I want to offer are Rock Band, Music Theory, Jazz Band, Flute Choir, Suzuki Classes, Glee Choir, Rhythm Section, Rock Drumming, and Chamber Music classes. The camp will run from 10am-3pm and each student will have four classes each day (theory, group lesson, ensemble, and special technique class). The cost of the camp will be $175 for KSM students and $200 for non-KSM students with a 10 student minimum for each week. There will also be a materials fee of $25 to purchase music and t-shirts for all participants. Teachers will make between $300-$450 depending on the quantity of students participating each week. If you are interested or have class ideas please let me know. I plan to begin advertising this event in February.
