And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.

[al Hajj 22:40]

Allah - the Mighty and Majestic - explains in this noble ayah that He has sworn to help and give victory to those who help Him. It is known that the help and victory of Allah comes by following what He has prescribed, obeying His commend, avoiding His prohibitions, by helping His Messengers and their followers, aiding His Religion and fighting against His enemies and overpowering them - until the word of Allah is made uppermost, whilst the word of His enemies is debased and mode low. Then Allah - the Most High, the Most Magnificent - explains the characteristics of those whom He has promised would receive His help and victory, distinguishing them from others. So He said - explaining those to whom He swore He would aid and give victory to - because He is the one to aid and give victory:

[And they are] those who, if We give them authority in the land, establish prayer and give zakah and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And to Allah belongs the outcome of [all] matters.[al Hajj 22:41]

Do we fit in this category? - About 300 people in a restive northern region of Algeria have joined a public lunch during Ramadan to protest against what they say is persecution of people who refuse to observe the religious fast. "We called this gathering to denounce the inquisition and persecution of citizens who, because of their beliefs, refuse to observe the fast. Lets come closer to home In 2007 Pew Research published a study on Muslims in America. For those that dont know Pew, Its a 102 pages of sruveys and research. Nearly 60,000 respondents were interviewed to find a representative sample of Muslims. Interviews were conducted in Arabic, Urdu and Farsi, as well as English. This is some of what they found: - It is projected that there are 2.35 million Muslims nationwide. Of the Muslism that were surveyed 8% believe the Quran is a book written by men!

26% of 18-29 yr olds rarely/never attend the masjid; whereas 30+ are at 39% Somewhat more Christians (70%) than Muslims (61%) say they pray every day. 12% of Muslims dont pray at all! Roughly one third of Muslims dont come to the Masjid at all! Ironically, more Muslims than Christians say religion is very important in their lives.

Maintain with care the [obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle prayer and stand before Allah, devoutly obedient. [al Baqarah 2:238]

27% believe Homosexuality should be accepted

And [We had sent] Lot when he said to his people, "Do you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds? [al Araf 7:80] - My brothers! My sisters! If this is our haalat, our condition, then how can we expect the help of

Allah to come?!

Allah has promised those who have believed among you and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them [al Noor 24:55]

O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet. [Muhammad 47:7]

- This verse is proof that there is no promise from Allah of His help, except by establishing the Prayer, paying the Zakah, enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil. So it is these whom Allah will establish upon the earth and will strengthen His Word through them. However, those who do not establish the salah, nor pay the Zakah, nor enjoin the good nor forbid the evil, then there is no promise for them from Allah that He will aid and grant them victory. They are not from His party, nor are they his friends - those who have the promise of His help and victory. Rather, they are the party of Shaytan and his friends. So if they were to expect the help of Allah and the fulfillment of His promise upon them, then their example is like that of a hired worker who refuses to do the labor that he was hired for, yet he expects to be rewarded. So whosoever is like this, then he has no intellect! - When Amr ibn al ' Aas fought against the Romans in Shaam. the Muslims numbered 8,000 and the Romans were 100,000. the Romans attacked suddenly and surround the Muslims....(being surrounded meant utter defeat).- there was a Sahabi by the name of Waathila bin Athqa said the situation was such that they would not even recite poetry (Arabs known to recite poetry in battle)...and all 8,000 had the words "Ya Rabba Muhammad, Unsur Ummata Muhammad!" [O Lord of Muhammad ! Help the Ummah of Muhammad ] Abdullah ibn Umar says the sun was covered and I say the sky ripped open and an army of horsemen descended on white Burraaq, spears in hand, wearing Amamahs. There was one horseman in front of all of them and said "Abshiru Ya ummata Muhammad, Faqad atakumAllah binNasri" [O Ummah of Muhammad , Indeed Allah has come to your aid]. They descended and disappeared from eyesight and the 100,000 Romans began to flee.... - There was a time when two sentences were enough. Our condition today is such that on the 29th of Ramadan the Imam in Haram is making dua, you have hundreds of thousands of people saying Ameen behind him and yet the doors of the Heavens are closed...

He is the Living One. There is no deity save Him. So pray to Him, making religion pure for Him [only]. Praise be to God, the Lord of the Universe! [al Ghaafir 40:61-65]
