Music at an Exhibition
In conjunction with Princely Treasures from the House of Liechtenstein exhibition Aug Sep 2013 Exhibition Galleries 1 and 2, Basement $45 (includes exhibition admission and handling fees) 20% discounts for 4 or more tickets Limited tickets available
Following last years sell-out success, the Music at an Exhibition concert series will return to National Museum of Singapore for its second edition. Come August and September, the exhibition galleries provide an inspired setting for an array of chamber concerts dedicated to the presentation of the Baroque repertoire. This series of concerts traverses the whole Baroque from its very earliest roots in the music of the Flemish Sweelinck and the Italian Gabrielli, to its final flowering in the great keyboard works of J.S. Bach. It also explores the influence of the Baroque on the great Viennese Classical masters, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. Immerse yourself in the exquisite masterpieces from the collection of the Prince of Liechtenstein, before sitting down to experience the compelling virtuosity of accomplished musicians who will perform the familiar favourites as well as some of the rarely heard gems of Baroque music. *** Only 10 free tickets to each concert are available for Press Club members/guests ***
