ABOUT THE MAKER

Knifemaking encompasses an amazingly broad spectrum of styles ranging from the purely practical to the whimsical. Most makers getting into the craft tend to start with fairly basic, functional designs and, as their skills develop, get more ambitious and artistic. Jason Brous, however, isnt like most makers. Although still in his early 20s, Brous began his efforts in knifemaking with the benefit of nearly 10 years of experience in CNC machining. His father owns a shop that specializes in the custom machining of high-precision components, mainly for the medical industry. As a good son, Brous spent a lot of time in his fathers shop growing up and by his mid teens was actively helping out with production. His skills and knowledge steadily increased and by the time he was 20 he was a seasoned and very competent machinist. Brous interest in knives actually began with artspecifically a style called Bio-mechanical art as practiced by one of his favorite artists, a Brazilian painter and tattooist named Lango. Biomechanical art (also called Biomech) is a surrealistic style of art that combines elements of machines and robotics with organic animal features. Intrigued by this style of art and its similarity to many fantasy knives, Brous figured that knifemaking would be a natural extension of his metalworking skills and an appropriate medium for his artistic ideas. Although he had no specific training in knifemaking, in 2010 he designed and made his first knifea fantasy design with a Biomech flavorand eagerly posted photos of it on several Internet knife forums. Unfortunately for him, his design drew harsh criticism from some all-knowing keyboard commandos. However, fortunately for us, he turned that criticism into fierce determination. Through persistent trial and error, Brous changed his style of knife design to focus on functional simplicity, while still maintaining a strong artistic signature. His early successes came in the form of a series of stout neck knives with dual finger-hole grips. Fans of these Silent Soldier neck knives began asking for other expressions of the design. Today Jason is creating numerous variations including a clip point version, a tanto version and the very popular folder version called the Silent Soldier Flipper.

The double swedge features a variable grind tapering down to a laser precise tip. The spine has aggressive thumb jimping and a 7/8" finger hole in the blade for ultimate control with various grip styles. The pivot utilizes a ball bearing system and heat treated pivot and stop pin. The handle employs skeletonized stainless steel liners, twill weave carbon fiber scales along with a bead blast finished stainless steel back spacer and pocket clip. THE RELOADER
QUALITY INNOVATIVE CUSTOM KNIVES

The Reloader features a satin finished CPM-D2 tool steel blade. The integrated flipper on a ball bearing pivot system allows for quick blade deployment and features a unique main hollow grind with a flat ground tanto style tip providing an excellent platform for hard use. The black G-10 handle scales and backspacer offer the advantage of custom milled grooves for a secure and comfortable grip. The titanium liner lock is carbidized with tungston carbide which ensures a long wearing and consistent blade lock-up and a harder lock face surface that eliminates stickiness. The knife can be deployed either with the flipper tang or in a more discrete fashion through use of the large volume groove cutout in the blade. All stainless steel hardware and deep concealment tip-up carry pocket clip make this folder a great afforable EDC.

THE CORONER

The Coroner's construction is designed for making heavy cuts with a broad flat ground blade that supports aggressive hacking and slicing. Knife Sharpening
I have a very unique way of sharpening knives which I think sets me apart from the competition. There are two ways to sharpen a knife: one is to create a high polished edge which is great for cutting paper, hair, tape, or any other fine cutting tasks. The second way is to create a toothier edge which is like micro serrations. This cutting edge is great for Para cord, rope, zip ties, rubber, etc. Over the years Ive come to the conclusion that the ultimate cutting edge is a combination of the two. In other words, polished micro serrations a polished toothy edge. This will allow you to easily cut all of the above items mentioned, as well as just about anything else in reason. We also offer knife modification or reprofiling. For example, if the tip of your knife broke off, we will be able to repair that by grinding the tip back to a sharp point. If a part of the cutting edge was chipped, we can also regrind the bevels and make the knife usable again.
