2. Students Favourite Activities During Leisure Hours Intro a. Obj b. Findings A survey was recently carried out to gauge how learners would spend their free time in Malaysia. Specifically, the research focuses on OUM students on what they would do during their leisure time. The results of the findings have shown that the most popular activity among males and females was accessing the internet with more males than females. This trend is probably due to the fact that males are more inclined to technical operations. Coming next in the second spot in the list of favourite activities among OUM students was exercising. The males were notably more active than the females where the number of males was twice as much as the females. Genetically inborn, most men prefer physical activities more than their counterparts. Moreover, men prefer more to indulge in keeping fit. Watching television (TV) was notably popular too. Standing in the third position after accessing internet and exercising, watching TV was also popular among males than the females. Maybe, men have more free time at home compared to women who have to do house chores like cooking and washing. Unlike accessing internet, watching TV and exercising which gain more interest among the males, reading and shopping were more popular among the females. More women than men were found to prefer reading and shopping to other types of activities. Maybe women love reading more than men as this activity does not need physical exertion. Similarly, more women were found to spend their free time on shopping compared to men. All in all (In conclusion), males were found to be more interested in accessing the internet, exercising and watching TV during their free time compared to women. On the other hand, females tend to spend their free time more on reading and shopping.
