1956-1960 sentences Heart Break Hotel On January 27th, 1956, Elvis Presley released his single Heart Break

Hotel. This song was the first on Elvis new record label called RCA victor. Heart Break Hotel was on the Billboard top 100 charts for seven weeks. The single also became his first million-seller. Heart break Hotel was put in the Grammy Hall Of Fame. This picture shows the cover of Heart Break Hotel.

Baseball World Series On October 3rd, 1956 the Baseball World Series began. The teams playing were the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Yankees. The series consisted of seven games. The first game, on October 3rd, was won by the Dodgers, as was the second game on October 5th. The third, fourth, and fifth games were won by the Yankees. The sixth game held on October 9th was won by the Dodgers, and the seventh game was won by the Yankees. The New York Yankees won the World Series 4 to 3. NFL Championships On December 29th, 1957 the NFL Championships began. The teams playing were the Detroit Lions and the Cleveland Browns. The game took place at Briggs Stadium in Detroit, Michigan. The Lions quarter-back, Bobby Lane was injured during the game, but luckily the backup quarter-back, Tobin Rote filled in for him and did an excellent job. Even though the Detroit Lions won the Championships in 1957, they havent won another one since. This picture shows both the Lions and the Browns.

Munich Air Disaster On February 6th, 1958, an airplane crashed in a blizzard. The Manchester United football team was aboard the plane. Supporters of the team along with journalists were on the plane. 22/44 of the people on the plane crash died. The crash was caused by the slush on the landing strip. NASA

On July 29th, 1958 NASA was established. The U.S was determined to win the Space Race. The Soviets were also determined to win the space race. In October of 1957, the Soviets shocked the American public by sending the first ever satellite to orbit the Earth. America eventually won the Space Race. This picture shows the logo for NASA.

Ise Bay Storm On September 26th, 1959, a typhoon hit Ise Bay Region in Japan. The typhoon was the most destructive typhoon in the country in recent history. The tropical storm was also called Vera or Isewan. The storm was named Isewan after the Ise Bay Region. Isewan caused major flooding on low land of Japan. This picture shows the major flooding in Japan because of the storm.
