Show flags of teachers own country and the UAE flag guess, discuss, etc. 4 groups and have them match the flags with the countries? Race. Elicit sports of UAE and royal family in particular. Watch you tube video about Sheikh Hamdan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQiHxtQRVEo 5 questions: Who is he? What family is he from? What do you know about him? Which sports does he play? What is his job? Show pp of Hamdans family. Exploit. Eg. Competition to guess their names SS read story B2.2.1( in groups, individually or take turns) Ss are asked to read it a second time. Place sup up paragraphs B2.2.3 on the walls around the room students take worksheet B2.2.2, read the paragraphs and matching the pictures of the Royals with the sentence about the Royals. SS look at the reading another time and look at the bold words, T ask what do they notice? What kind of words are they? ( family words) T shows slides of family members. SS have to look at image and unscramble letter to form words on worksheet B.2.2.4 Prince Hamdan is a sportsman. Who in the class considers themselves to be a good sportsman or woman? Play basketball using crumpled paper balls and two baskets in the front of the room. One basket is red and one is blue if possible. Ss take turns throwing paper balls into baskets. Each time the s throws the ball, the T asks where the ball is in, on, beside, behind, etc. The teacher can also move the ball to the location she wants to explain the preposition Show preposition power point B2.2.5 go over language with symbols and TPRs T shows pp B.2.2.6 of preposition worksheets and exploit. Competition to see how quickly they can complete, etc, etc. Worksheet B.2.2.7 Use realia and games to practice prepositions of place. Group activity B.2.2.8 Play national anthem to get ss in the mood for making poster about the Emirates using magazine Check resources for more materials

Project 30 Project work- work on a pictorial autobiography putting in sports that they have done. Make a poster of the UAE with magazines and pictures of the Royal Family of Dubai. Students can also brain storm for words that represent the UAE. (e.g. camel, desert, palm trees, dates etc.)
