Butterfly Cake
You will need: CK Buttercream icing (77-660) CK Black buttercream icing (77-66011) Green, red, orange, yellow and purple food color Piping gel, clear (76-2011) Candy coating, cocoa-lite (70-2100), yellow (70-2350), orchid (70-2650) Tips #2 (2P-2), #4 (2P-4) and #8 (2P-8) Decorating bag, pkg/12 (31-55) Standard coupler (30-1000) Cake board (22-11414) Follow cake mix or recipe instructions. Grease & flour pan, fill 2/3 full. Butterfly Pantastic Pan 10 X 9 49-8123 Standard Oven Place pan on a shiny cookie sheet and bake according to mix instructions. Microwave Microwave for about 6 minutes, rotating every 2 minutes (microwave times may vary). Cool cake 5 minutes in pan. Release from pan and cool on a rack or towel. Cool cake completely, position on cake board. Decorating for Butterfly Cake Use clean, dry pan to make candy mold of body and outer wings only (melt cocoa-lite, yellow and orchid candy coating in separate dishes in microwave in 30 second increments, stirring every 30 seconds until melted), pour into pan, place pan in freezer for 5 minutes or until candy is set Frost cake smooth with buttercream icing Use #2 round tip for lead in stain glass with black buttercream icing, create your own designallow to dry for a crust Color small amounts of piping gel 5 different colors Fill in stain glass by spreading colored piping gel into each pane Use #8 round tip for elongated ball border with buttercream icing Position molded candy pieces on cake Use #4 round tip for antenna with green buttercream icing Use #2 round tip for trim around body with black buttercream icing
