Lines, Line Segments and Vectors
LINE
A collection of points at which when any two points are
selected and connected extending to infinity, all other
points are on it.
LINE SEGMENT
Portion of a line that has a fixed length.
VECTORS
Are represented as a ray (a line segment with an arrow
head). The length of the segment is the magnitude of the
vector and the arrow head is the direction.
NOTE: There are infinite vectors that lies within a line.

Vector Equations of a Straight Line
The equation can be determined with the
following cases:
1) A line parallel to a certain vector, passing
through a certain point.
2) A line passing through two points.

Direction Ratio
For the equation of the line r = A +tB, the
components of B form a set of DIRECTION RATIOS for
the straight line.
NOTE:
1. The vector equation of a straight line passing through the
origin and parallel to a given vector B will be of the form

SKEW LINES
Two lines that are not parallel to each other and
does not intersect each other.
A line both perpendicular to the lines exist, and its
length is the shortest distance between two skew
straight lines.
