Seniors (60 and above) are Eligible for Free Legal Assistance through Legal Aid of Napa Valley, 707.259.0579 Individual and confidential consultation, eligibility screening, and help with the citizenship application and filing for those who qualify.
The cost includes presentation, application assistance, attorney review and representation for those who qualify, express mail, and study materials. To receive assistance at the workshop, you must bring all of the following: 1) $50 in cash, money order or check payable to IIBA (Additional services may cost between $150 - $600) 2) $680 in check or money order, payable to Department of Homeland Security (if 75 years or older, only $595). If you qualify for the application fee waiver YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY the Immigration filing fee. You need to bring documents proving that your income is low, such as pay stubs, income tax returns and/or proof that you currently receive public benefits, such as Medi-Cal, food stamps, WIC, CalWorks, etc. 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) A Copy of your green card (both sides). 2 photos (U.S. Passport style). List of all your trips out of the United States including departure and return dates. List of addresses and employment and/or schools for the past five years including start and end dates. If you are currently married; spouses full legal name, date of birth, Social Security number, alien number (A#), date and place of naturalization, and current address. 8) Information about all your prior marriages and about all of your current spouses prior marriages; including date of marriage, date the marriage ended, and how marriage ended. 9) If you have children, their full name as it appears on birth certificate, dates of birth, residency card A#, and address. 10) Documentation of all arrests and/or convictions, including reason for the arrest, date, place, and outcome/disposition. Bring ALL arrest and court documents, even if the charges were dropped.
