The data in this Account is based on Taps made into carbon steel pipe. When Taps are made into material other than carbon steel pipe such as cement lined pipe, transite cast iron, stainless steel and other alloys, plastic or fiberglass, additional information such as the thickness ofa cement lining or the hardness ofan alloy compared to carbon steel may be needed.

Blind Flange, Weld Cap And Large Diameter Tank Tapping Depending on the thickness ofthe object being tapped, a drip leg incorporated into
the tapping nozzlemay be required to disperse shavings from the cutting area.

Tapping Materials That Can Not Be y'elded Ifit is necessary to tap or plug a line that can not be welded such as cast iron, transite, or even carbon steel when welding is not permitted in the area, a bolt-on ftting can be used.

TAPPING FITTINGS Tapping Fittings are full-branch or reducing branch split tees designed for use with tapping machines. They are equipped with ANSI Class 150, 300, 600 weld neck flanges.
