Hotter daysThis years summer, Kathmandu was hotter compared to previous experience.

The increasing trend of the temperature is seen from past decades and the record breaking temperature is felt every year. This surely indicates the trend of global warming which is affecting us and in near future, can bring other serious threats if we are not aware now. Global warming is simply the increasing of average temperature of atmosphere of Earth. The increased quantity of greenhouse gases, which absorbs the heat, increases the ambient temperature of Earth. The trend of increase in temperature which used to be gradual is now increased in quite considerable amount. The increased emission of Greenhouse gases is due to burning of fossil fuels, other sources of energy consumed in the industrial sector as well as vehicle transportation. These fuels are the major sources of energy in the industrial sector as well as motor transportation and the replacement of the fuels by non-emitting sources is a great challenge. Also, the increase in the atmospheric carbondioxide level is also a grievous issue. This matter is made worst by the increasing deforestation which acts a great role in carbon sequestration prevent the release of carbondioxide in environment. The increasing carbondioxide and other greenhouse gases concentration in the atmosphere enhances greenhouse effect, which tends to rise the ambient temperature of Earth, which is observed in past few decades in an adverse way. Since about 1950, the Earths global surface temperature has risen by more than 0.6C. And, a significant rise in temperature can spark events, such as, melting of ice and snow which results in rise of sea level endangering the coastal areas, extreme events such as flood and draught due to uneven distribution of precipitation, difficulty in adjustment for different species in the changing climatic condition, as well as the increase in health hazards. The natural environment can change quickly and it can change from year to year. In a natural environment we could wait for nature to take its course but it will be too late if we dont start thinking now about this serious threat of climate change. Though all the countries suffer from the global climate change, the responsibility of developed countries upon the past and present Greenhouse gas emissions; make them responsible for taking bulk of the actions to curb the present and future emissions. Its never too late to start. So, it is time for us to pay attention to this issue. It is our future generation who will suffer most of the burden of climate change. And we must do what we can do.
