Cherubims
Words translated “cherub” or “cherubims”

Strong’s (Hebrew) 3742—ke rûwb. ker-oob’; of uncert. der.; a cherub or imaginary figure:—cherub,
[plur.] cherubims.

Strong’s (Greek) 5502—ch.r4ubim, kher-oo-beem’; plur. of Heb. or. [3742]; “cherubim” (i.e.
cherubs or kerubim):—cherubims.

Note: The following word refers to a Babylonian city and is only used in Ezra 2:59, translated
“Cherub.” Those of Cherub “could not shew their father’s house, and their seed, whether they
were of Israel.”

Strong’s (Hebrew) 3743—Ke rûwb. ker-oob’; the same as 3742; Kerub, a place in Bab.:—Cherub

Words translated “living creatures” or “beasts”

Strong’s (Hebrew) 2416 is translated “living creatures” in the verses Ezekiel 1. Strong’s (Greek) 2226
is translated “beasts” throughout Revelation. Both refer to the cherubim. In each case, only that
single word is used for those creatures.

Strong’s (Hebrew) 2416—chay, khah’ee; from 2421; alive; hence raw (flesh); fresh (plant, water,
year), strong; also (as noun, espec. in the fem. sing. and masc. plur.) life (or living thing), whether lit.
or fig.:— + age, alive, appetite, (wild) beast, company, congregation, life(-time), live(-ly), living
(creature, thing), maintenance, + merry, multitude, + (be) old, quick, raw, running, springing, troop.

Strong’s (Hebrew) 2421—châyâh, khaw-yaw’; a prim. root [comp. 2331, 2421]; to live, whether lit.
or fig.; causat. to revive:—keep (leave, make) alive, x certainly, give (promise) life, (let, suffer to) live,
nourish, up, preserve (alive), quicken, recover, repair, restore (to life), revive (x God) save (alive, life,
lives), x surely, be whole.

Strong’s (Greek) 2226—zÇ 4n, dzo’-on; neut. of a der. of 2198; a live thing, i.e. an
animal:—beast.

Strong’s (Greek) 2198—zaÇ, dzah’-o; a prim. verb; to live (lit. or fig.):—life (-time), (a-) live (-ly),
quick.

See Appendix 41 in the Companion Bible for more notes on the cherubim.
From Smith’s Bible Dictionary:

CHER’UB (mystic figure on the ark). Cherubim, plural. A keeper, warder, or guard of the Deity.
Josephus said no one in his day could even conjecture the shape of the cherubim that Solomon
made for the Holy of Holies (Ant. viii.3, 3). They were of wood, guilded, and 15 feet high (1 K. vi. 23).
Ezekiel describes them as having each four faces and four wings; but he gives only two faces (or it
may be but one) to those in the temple on the walls. The cherubim of Rev. iv. 7, 8, are living
creatures with one body, four faces full of eyes, and six wings. The fourfold combination was of man,
lion, ox, and eagle. Monstrous combinations of this kind are figured and sculptured both in Assyria
and Egypt. These combined forms are symbolical of united powers; the lion of strength, royal
majesty; the ox of patient industry; wings of swiftness, quickness, and the human head the
intelligence to guide all these for one purpose; and thus showing that the divine government is
sustained by intelligence, power, patience, and speed. They were servants of God, and they were
ministers of vengeance (Ez. x. 7; Rev. xv. 7), and attendants of the heavenly king, praising and
extolling the wonders of His grace (Rev. v. 11), and thus always nearest to God, “in the midst of the
throne” (Rev. iv. 4–6), while others as angels and elders, were round about the throne. They are
especially called living creatures (Ezekiel and John), and so full of eyes, the peculiar sign of life. The
cherubim were designed as symbols of faith and hope to man, pointing to the possibility of man
attaining to the highest and holiest places. (See EGYPT for picture of the Sphinx, and NINEVAH for
winged figures).

Cherubims at the East of Eden

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, “Behold, the man is become as one of Us, to know good and evil:
and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:—”
Gen 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from
whence he was taken.
Gen 3:24 So He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and
a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Cherubims in the Ark of the Covenant

Exo 25:17 And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length
thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.
Exo 25:18 And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the
two ends of the mercy seat.
Exo 25:19 And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of
the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.
Exo 25:20 And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with
their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the
cherubims be.
Exo 25:21 And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the
testimony that I shall give thee.
Exo 25:22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat,
from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will
give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

Exo 26:1 Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue,
and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.
Exo 26:31 And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of
cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:

Exo 36:8 And every wise hearted man among them that wrought the work of the tabernacle made
ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work
made he them.

Exo 36:35 And he made a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: with cherubims
made he it of cunning work.

Exo 37:7 And he made two cherubims of gold, beaten out of one piece made he them, on the two
ends of the mercy seat;
Exo 37:8 One cherub on the end on this side, and another cherub on the other end on that side: out
of the mercy seat made he the cherubims on the two ends thereof.
Exo 37:9 And the cherubims spread out their wings on high, and covered with their wings over the
mercy seat, with their faces one to another; even to the mercy seatward were the faces of the
cherubims.

Heb 9:1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
Heb 9:2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and
the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
Heb 9:3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
Heb 9:4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold,
wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the
covenant;
Heb 9:5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now
speak particularly.
Heb 9:6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle,
accomplishing the service of God.

Moses Hears Voice from the Mercy Seat from Between the Two Cherubims

Num 7:89 And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him,
then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of
testimony, from between the two cherubims: and He spake unto him.

The Lord of Hosts “Dwelleth Between the Cherubims”

The phrase “the LORD of Hosts That dwelleth between the cherubims,” or variations thereof, are
repeated several times in the Bible.

1Sa 4:4 So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from thence the ark of the covenant of
the LORD of hosts, Ehich dwelleth between the cherubims: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and
Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

2Sa 6:2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to
bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts That
dwelleth between the cherubims.
1Ch 13:5 So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of
Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjath-jearim.
1Ch 13:6 And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjath-jearim, which belonged to
Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD , That dwelleth between the cherubims, Whose
name is called on it.
1Ch 13:7 And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and
Ahio drave the cart.
1Ch 13:8 And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with
harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
1Ch 13:9 And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the
ark; for the oxen stumbled.
1Ch 13:10 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and He smote him, because he put
his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.

Psa 80:1 (A Psalm of Asaph.) Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, Thou That leadest Joseph like a flock;
Thou That dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.
Psa 80:2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up Thy strength, and come and save us.

Psa 99:1 The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: He sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth
be moved.

Hezekiah’s Prayer

2Ki 19:14 And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and
Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD , and spread it before the LORD .
2Ki 19:15 And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD , and said, “O LORD God of Israel, Which dwellest
between the cherubims, Thou art the God, even Thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; Thou
hast made heaven and earth.
2Ki 19:16 LORD , bow down Thine ear, and hear: open, LORD , Thine eyes, and see: and hear the words
of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.
2Ki 19:17 Of a truth, LORD , the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,
2Ki 19:18 And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s
hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
2Ki 19:19 Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save Thou us out of His hand, that all the
kingdoms of the earth may know that Thou art the LORD God, even Thou only.”

Isa 37:15 And Hezekiah prayed unto the LORD , saying,

Isa 37:16 “O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, That dwellest between the cherubims, Thou art the God,
even Thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: Thou hast made heaven and earth.
Isa 37:17 Incline Thine ear, O LORD , and hear; open Thine eyes, O LORD , and see: and hear all the
words of Sennacherib, which hath sent to reproach the living God.
Isa 37:18 Of a truth, LORD , the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their countries,
Isa 37:19 And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s
hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
Isa 37:20 Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth
may know that Thou art the LORD , even Thou only.
Cherubims in the Temple

1Ki 6:23 And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high.
1Ki 6:24 And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the
cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.
1Ki 6:25 And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubims were of one measure and one
size.
1Ki 6:26 The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.
1Ki 6:27 And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the
cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub
touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.
1Ki 6:28 And he overlaid the cherubims with gold.
1Ki 6:29 And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and
palm trees and open flowers, within and without.
1Ki 6:30 And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.
1Ki 6:31 And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts
were a fifth part of the wall.
1Ki 6:32 The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and
palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and
upon the palm trees.
1Ki 6:33 So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall.
1Ki 6:34 And the two doors were of fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two
leaves of the other door were folding.
1Ki 6:35 And he carved thereon cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them
with gold fitted upon the carved work.
1Ki 6:36 And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.
1Ki 6:37 In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif:
1Ki 6:38 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house
finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years
in building it.

1Ki 7:28 And the work of the bases was on this manner: they had borders, and the borders were
between the ledges:
1Ki 7:29 And on the borders that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubims: and
upon the ledges there was a base above: and beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions
made of thin work.
1Ki 7:30 And every base had four brasen wheels, and plates of brass: and the four corners thereof
had undersetters: under the laver were undersetters molten, at the side of every addition.
1Ki 7:31 And the mouth of it within the chapiter and above was a cubit: but the mouth thereof was
round after the work of the base, a cubit and an half: and also upon the mouth of it were gravings
with their borders, foursquare, not round.
1Ki 7:32 And under the borders were four wheels; and the axletrees of the wheels were joined to the
base: and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.
1Ki 7:33 And the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their axletrees, and their
naves, and their felloes, and their spokes, were all molten.
1Ki 7:34 And there were four undersetters to the four corners of one base: and the undersetters
were of the very base itself.
1Ki 7:35 And in the top of the base was there a round compass of half a cubit high: and on the top
of the base the ledges thereof and the borders thereof were of the same.
1Ki 7:36 For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubims,
lions, and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round about.

1Ki 8:5 And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were
with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for
multitude.
1Ki 8:6 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle
of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.
1Ki 8:7 For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims
covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
1Ki 8:8 And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place
before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.

1Ch 28:17 Also pure gold for the fleshhooks, and the bowls, and the cups: and for the golden
basons he gave gold by weight for every bason; and likewise silver by weight for every bason of
silver:
1Ch 28:18 And for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot
of the cherubims, that spread out their wings, and covered the ark of the covenant of the LORD .

2Ch 3:6 And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of
Parvaim.
2Ch 3:7 He overlaid also the house, the beams, the posts, and the walls thereof, and the doors
thereof, with gold; and graved cherubims on the walls.
2Ch 3:8 And he made the most holy house, the length whereof was according to the breadth of the
house, twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits: and he overlaid it with fine gold,
amounting to six hundred talents.
2Ch 3:9 And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers
with gold.
2Ch 3:10 And in the most holy house he made two cherubims of image work, and overlaid them
with gold.
2Ch 3:11 And the wings of the cherubims were twenty cubits long: one wing of the one cherub was
five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house: and the other wing was likewise five cubits, reaching to
the wing of the other cherub.
2Ch 3:12 And one wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house: and
the other wing was five cubits also, joining to the wing of the other cherub.
2Ch 3:13 The wings of these cherubims spread themselves forth twenty cubits: and they stood on
their feet, and their faces were inward.
2Ch 3:14 And he made the vail of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought
cherubims thereon.
2Ch 3:15 Also he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high, and the chapiter
that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.

2Ch 5:7 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, to the oracle
of the house, into the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims:
2Ch 5:8 For the cherubims spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims
covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
Ezekiel’s Visions of the Cherubims

Eze 1:1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month,
as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions
of God.
Eze 1:2 In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin’s captivity,
Eze 1:3 The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of
the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him.
Eze 1:4 And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire
infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out
of the midst of the fire.
Eze 1:5 Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their
appearance; they had the likeness of a man.
Eze 1:6 And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.
Eze 1:7 And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot:
and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
Eze 1:8 And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had
their faces and their wings.
Eze 1:9 Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every
one straight forward.
Eze 1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on
the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an
eagle.
Eze 1:11 Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one
were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
Eze 1:12 And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they
turned not when they went.
Eze 1:13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire,
and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was
bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
Eze 1:14 And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.
Eze 1:15 Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living
creatures, with his four faces.
Eze 1:16 The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they
four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a
wheel.
Eze 1:17 When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went.
Eze 1:18 As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of
eyes round about them four.
Eze 1:19 And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living
creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.
Eze 1:20 Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels
were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
Eze 1:21 When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were
lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living
creature was in the wheels.
Eze 1:22 And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour
of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.
Eze 1:23 And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one
had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their
bodies.
Eze 1:24 And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the
voice of THE ALMIGHTY , the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down
their wings.
Eze 1:25 And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and
had let down their wings.
Eze 1:26 And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the
appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the
appearance of a man above upon it.
Eze 1:27 And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the
appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it
were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
Eze 1:28 As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance
of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD . And
when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of One That spake.

Eze 10:1 Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims
there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.
Eze 10:2 And He spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, “Go in between the wheels, even
under the cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter them
over the city.” And he went in in my sight.
Eze 10:3 Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the
cloud filled the inner court.
Eze 10:4 Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the
house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD ’S
glory.
Eze 10:5 And the sound of the cherubims’ wings was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of
the ALMIGHTY GOD when He speaketh.
Eze 10:6 And it came to pass, that when He had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying,
“Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubims;” then he went in, and stood
beside the wheels.
Eze 10:7 And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that
was between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with
linen: who took it, and went out.
Eze 10:8 And there appeared in the cherubims the form of a man’s hand under their wings.
Eze 10:9 And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub,
and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels was as the colour of a beryl
stone.
Eze 10:10 And as for their appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel had been in the
midst of a wheel.
Eze 10:11 When they went, they went upon their four sides; they turned not as they went, but to
the place whither the head looked they followed it; they turned not as they went.
Eze 10:12 And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels,
were full of eyes round about, even the wheels that they four had.
Eze 10:13 As for the wheels, it was cried unto them in my hearing, “O wheel.”
Eze 10:14 And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second
face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.
Eze 10:15 And the cherubims were lifted up. This is the living creature that I saw by the river of
Chebar.
Eze 10:16 And when the cherubims went, the wheels went by them: and when the cherubims lifted
up their wings to mount up from the earth, the same wheels also turned not from beside them.
Eze 10:17 When they stood, these stood; and when they were lifted up, these lifted up themselves
also: for the spirit of the living creature was in them.
Eze 10:18 Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over
the cherubims.
Eze 10:19 And the cherubims lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight:
when they went out, the wheels also were beside them, and every one stood at the door of the east
gate of the LORD ’s house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.
Eze 10:20 This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar; and I
knew that they were the cherubims.
Eze 10:21 Every one had four faces apiece, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands
of a man was under their wings.
Eze 10:22 And the likeness of their faces was the same faces which I saw by the river of Chebar,
their appearances and themselves: they went every one straight forward.

Eze 11:17 Therefore say, ‘Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and
assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of
Israel.
Eze 11:18 And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and
all the abominations thereof from thence.
Eze 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the
stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
Eze 11:20 That they may walk in My statutes, and keep Mine ordinances, and do them: and they
shall be my people, and I will be their God.
Eze 11:21 But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their
abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads,” saith the Lord GOD.
Eze 11:22 Then did the cherubims lift up their wings, and the wheels beside them; and the glory of
the God of Israel was over them above.
Eze 11:23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the
mountain which is on the east side of the city.
Eze 11:24 Afterwards the spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into
Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.
Eze 11:25 Then I spake unto them of the captivity all the things that the LORD had shewed me.

Cherubims in the Millenial Temple

Eze 41:18 And it was made with cherubims and palm trees, so that a palm tree was between a
cherub and a cherub; and every cherub had two faces;
Eze 41:19 So that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a
young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: it was made through all the house round about.
Eze 41:20 From the ground unto above the door were cherubims and palm trees made, and on the
wall of the temple.
Eze 41:21 The posts of the temple were squared, and the face of the sanctuary; the appearance of
the one as the appearance of the other.
Eze 41:22 The altar of wood was three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits; and the
corners thereof, and the length thereof, and the walls thereof, were of wood: and he said unto me,
“This is the table that is before the LORD .”
Eze 41:23 And the temple and the sanctuary had two doors.
Eze 41:24 And the doors had two leaves apiece, two turning leaves; two leaves for the one door,
and two leaves for the other door.
Eze 41:25 And there were made on them, on the doors of the temple, cherubims and palm trees,
like as were made upon the walls; and there were thick planks upon the face of the porch without.

The Four Beasts of Revelation

Rev 4:2 And immediately I was in the Spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and One sat
on the throne.
Rev 4:3 And He That sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow
round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
Rev 4:4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and
twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
Rev 4:5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were
seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
Rev 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the
throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
Rev 4:7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a
face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
Rev 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes
within: and they rest not day and night, saying, “Holy, holy, holy, LORD God Almighty, Which was, and
is, and is to come.”
Rev 4:9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to Him That sat on the throne,
who liveth for ever and ever,
Rev 4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before Him That sat on the throne, and worship Him
That liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
Rev 4:11 “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all
things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.”

Rev 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of Him That sat on the throne a book written within and on the
backside, sealed with seven seals.
Rev 5:2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the book,
and to loose the seals thereof?”
Rev 5:3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book,
neither to look thereon.
Rev 5:4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither
to look thereon.
Rev 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, “Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the
Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.”
Rev 5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of
the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the
seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
Rev 5:7 And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him That sat upon the throne.
Rev 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down
before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the
prayers of saints.
Rev 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, “Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the
seals thereof: for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by Thy blood out of every kindred,
and tongue, and people, and nation;
Rev 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Rev 5:11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts
and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of
thousands;
Rev 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb That was slain to receive power, and riches,
and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.”
Rev 5:13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as
are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, “Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power,
be unto Him That sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.”
Rev 5:14 And the four beasts said, “Amen.” And the four and twenty elders fell down and
worshipped Him That liveth for ever and ever.

Rev 6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of
thunder, one of the four beasts saying, “Come and see.”
Rev 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was
given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
Rev 6:3 And when He had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, “Come and see.”
Rev 6:4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat
thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto
him a great sword.
Rev 6:5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, “Come and see.” And I
beheld, and lo a black horse; and He That sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
Rev 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, “A measure of wheat for a penny,
and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.”
Rev 6:7 And when He had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, “Come
and see.”
Rev 6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell
followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with
sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Rev 7:11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts,
and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
Rev 7:12 Saying, “Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and
power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.”

Rev 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with Him an hundred forty and
four thousand, having His Father’s name written in their foreheads.
Rev 14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great
thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
Rev 14:3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and
the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which
were redeemed from the earth.

Rev 15:6 And the seven angels came out of the Temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure
and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.
Rev 15:7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath
of God, Who liveth for ever and ever.
Rev 15:8 And the Temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from His power; and no
man was able to enter into the Temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.
Rev 19:1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, “Alleluia;
Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the LORD our God:
Rev 19:2 For true and righteous are His judgments: for He hath judged the great whore, which did
corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of His servants at her hand.”
Rev 19:3 And again they said, “Alleluia.” And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
Rev 19:4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat
on the throne, saying, “Amen; Alleluia.”
Seraphims
Strong’s 8314—sârâph, saw-raf’; from 8313; burning, i.e. (fig.) poisonous (serpent); spec. a saraph
or symbol. creature (from their copper color):—fiery (serpent), seraph.

Strong’s 8313—sâraph, saw-raf’; a prim. root; to be (caus. set) on fire:—(cause to, make a) burn ([-
ing] up), kindle, x utterly.

Isaiah 6 is the only place in the Bible that seraphims are mentioned. Strong’s 8314 is the word
translated “seraphims.” Strong’s 8314 is also the word translated “fiery” (as in “fiery serpents”) in
Numbers 21:6 and Deuteronomy 8:15.

Isa 6:1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up,
and His train filled the temple.
Isa 6:2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and
with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
Isa 6:3 And one cried unto another, and said, “Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth
is full of His glory.”
Isa 6:4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with
smoke.
Isa 6:5 Then said I, “Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in
the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.”
Isa 6:6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken
with the tongs from off the altar:
Isa 6:7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, “Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is
taken away, and thy sin purged.”
Isa 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the LORD , saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then
said I, “Here am I; send me.”
Isa 6:9 And He said, “Go, and tell this people, ‘Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye
indeed, but perceive not.’
Isa 6:10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they
see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be
healed.”
Isa 6:11 Then said I, “LORD , how long?” And He answered, “Until the cities be wasted without
inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
Isa 6:12 And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of
the land.
Isa 6:13 But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an
oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the
substance thereof.”

working of His mighty power,
Eph 1:20 Which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own
right hand in the heavenly places,
Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is
named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
Eph 1:22 And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the
church,
Eph 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Col 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, Which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance
of the saints in light:
Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom
of His dear Son:
Col 1:14 In Whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the Firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16 For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and
invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created
by Him, and for Him:
Col 1:17 And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.

1Pe 3:17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
1Pe 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to
God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
1Pe 3:19 By which also He went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
1Pe 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days
of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Christ:

powers being made subject unto Him.

Rom 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God That justifieth.

even at the right hand of God, Who also maketh intercession for us.
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution,
or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36 As it is written, “For Thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep
for the slaughter.”
Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him That loved us.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,
nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love
of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly
gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to
themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
