The government and the Parliament have again failed to pass the Janlokpal Bill. Clearly, they have no intention of passing the bill. Who are the people who do not want the Janlokpal Bill to be passed?

Corrupt Cabinet: There are serious charges of corruption on 15 of the 34 cabinet ministers of our country. If Janlokpal would have been in existence, most of them would be in jail. Those who were supposed to be in jail are currently running the government and this nation. Will they ever let an effective Janlokpal bill to be passed? Today, a common man is hard pressed to "simply live" because of rampant price rise. Petrol prices are skyrocketing. While the price of oil in international markets has decreased, our government has increased the prices of petrol in domestic market. Why is it so? If the price of one litre of petrol is Rs 77/-, then Rs 46/- is composed of taxes and Rs 31/- is the cost of petrol. These ministers rob this tax which is paid by even the poorest citizen of India. The price rise being faced by the common man is directly due to the corruption of these 15 ministers. For this reason, we demand the following:Our Demand No 1: The government should immediately constitute a special investigation team (SIT). This SIT should constitute of honest retired Judges who would look into the charges against these 15 ministers and complete the investigation within 6 months. Rumors abound that there is an understanding of quid-pro-quo between Mulayam Singh and the UPA government under which he will support the UPA in Presidential elections and in return the CBI will cold store investigations against him. Is this democracy ? Does our Parliament function on the basis of such deals? In light of this we demand: Our Demand No 2: All the pending CBI cases against Party supremos (like Smt Mayawati ji, Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji, Shri Lalu Prasad Yadav, Smt. Jayalalitha etc) should be taken away from the CBI and in turn be handed over to the above-mentioned independent investigation team. Corrupt Parliament: Lok Sabha has 162 and Rajya Sabha has 39 tainted MPs. Out of these, Lok Sabha has 77 and Rajya Sabha has 14 MPs against whom there are charges of heinous crimes like murder, fraud, kidnapping etc. Will these kind of MPs ever pass an effective Lokpal which will send such MPs to jail? Will Lalu, Mayawati, Mulayam, Raja, Kanimozhi, Kalmadi etc. ever pass an effective anti corruption law ? Our Demand No 3: To set up fast track courts which will pass judgement on allegation against 15 ministers in 6 months. Gandhiji said "hate the sin-not the sinner". We do not have any malice against anyone. Our struggle is solely to purify the Parliament and Government. Till such time that this nation's cabinet and parliament are purified, India will not be able to get rid itself of corruption, injustice and price rise. These criminals sitting in Parliament and cabinet are the enemies of Lokpal. These people should be dethroned in the first place to bring Lokpal Bill. We have written to the Prime Minister and placed our demands. If these demands are not met, an indefinite fast will start at Jantar Mantar from 25th July onwards. Anna has done three fasts in the past year and it has taken a toll on his health. As Anna's life is precious for the nation, we have appealed to Anna not to sit on fast. Instead, Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Gopal Rai will sit on fast under Anna's guidance. This is a do or die battle between THE PEOPLE and THE CORRUPT of this nation. Thousands of people will take part in this battle to sacrifice their lives from 25th July. I appeal to the youth of this nation to prepare for supreme sacrifice in this "Do or Die" battle. The nation is asking for sacrifice. The youth of this country should be ready to come forward and sacrifice everything to achieve this goal. Yours, Arvind Kejriwal
