[Recorded by Ibn Qudaamah in Dhammut-Ta'weel (p. 17-18)] MANHAJ e SAHABAH(7-g): Imaam Dhahabi (d.748H): It is authentically related from ad-Daarqutni that he said:No person should ever enter into ilmul-kalaam, nor argumentation. Rather, he should be SALAFEE (a follower of the Salaf). [Siyar 16/457] ...As-Salafi is one who is on the Mazhab of THE SALAF. (Seera 'Alam 21/6) ....Az-Dhahabee also said concerning the biography of Muhammad Ibn Muhammad al-Bahraanee, He was a good SALAFEE with respect to the Religion. [Mu'jamushShuyookh (2/280)] He also said about Imaam Abul-Abbas bin Majd al-Maqdisi, He was reliable and trustworthy, intelligent, SALAFI and pious [Siyar 23/118] MANHAJ e SAHABAH(7-h): As-Samani (d.562H): We have been commanded to follow...., The hallmark of the People of the Sunnah is their adherence to AL-SALAF AL-SALIH & their leaving every matter which constitutes a bidah [al-Intisar li Ahl al-Hadith of Abu al-Muzaffar al-Sam'ani by way of the book Sawn al-Mantaq wa al-Kalam (p.158)] As-Samaanee also said in al-lnsaab (3/273): AS-SALAFI: this is an ascription to the SALAF and following their ways, in that which is related from them. lbn al-Atheer (d.630H) said in al-Lubaab fee Tahdheebullnsaab (2/162), commenting upon the previous saying of as-Samani: And a group were known by this ascription. MANHAJ e SAHABAH(7-i): Ibn Qudaamah al-Maqdisee (d.620H): Prophet(S) said: Indeed what is between one level of heaven and (another) level of heaven is a distance of such and such He continued until he mentioned: And ABOVE that is the Throne. And Allaah(s.w.t), is ABOVE that. This and what is similiar to it is from what the SALAF,have unanimously agreed upon reporting and accepting.. [Lumut-ul-Itiqaad of Ibn Qudaamah al-Maqdisee, Ch.Asma wa Sifaat, points 18 - 19] Al-Asbahani (d.535H): The sign of Ahlus-Sunnah is that they FOLLOW the SALAFUS-SAALIH and abandon all that is innovated and newly introduced into the Deen. [Al-Hujjah fee Bayaanil Mahajjah 1/364] MANHAJ e SAHABAH(7-j): lbn Taymiyyah (d.728H): There is NO criticism for the one who proclaims the way (madhab) of the SALAF, who attaches himself to it and refers to it. Rather, it is OBLIGATORY to accept that from him by unanimous agreement (Ittifaaq) because the way (madhab) of the SALAF is nothing but the TRUth (HAQQ). [Majmoo alFataawaa 4:149] -For us the ruling of the sunnah is that way upon which the Sahabah were.[Quoting Imam Ahmad in Fatwa Ibn Taymiyyah.] It is better for us to tke the opinion of the Sahaba than our own.[Quoting Imam Ahmad in Fatwa Ibn Taymiyyah.] Ash-Shatibi (d.790H): The SALAF-as-SALIH, the Sahabah, tabieen and tab'tabieen knew the Quraan, its sciences and its meanings the BEST. [al-Muwafiqat (2/79) of ash-Shatibi] MANHAJ e SAHABAH(7-k): Ibn al-Qayyim (d.751H): The reality of Kufr has been married to Bidah, & they have given birth to a state of loss in the life of this world and the hereafter. If he overcomes this obstacle and escapes it: -with the light of the Sunnah, -seeks to stay clear of it by truly adhering to the Sunnah and by emulating those who have passed from the SALAF from the Sahabah(R) and their students who FOLLOWED THEM in goodness [Madarij al-Salikin (1/223)] MANHAJ e SAHABAH(7-l): Ibn Kathir (d.774H): {in his tafsir of: and then He rose over (Istawa) the Throne;7:54} the people had several conflicting opinions over its meaning. However, WE follow the WAY that our SALAF took in this regard, such as Malik, Al-Awzai, As-Thawri, AlLayth bin Sad, Ash-Shafii, Ahmad b Hambal, Ishaq bin Rahwayh.... And his tafsir of: The Most Gracious Istawa the Throne [Surah Ta-Ha (20):5] discussion concerning this has already preceded in Surat Al-Araf, so there is no need to repeat it here. The SAFEST PATH to take in understanding this, is the WAY of the SALAF... Their way was to accept that which has been reported concerning this from the Book and the Sunnah without describing it, reinterpreting it, resembling it to creation, rejecting it, or comparing it to attributes of the creatures. [Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Section:The Qur'an is a Reminder and a Revelation from Allah] MANHAJ e SAHABAH(7-m): Ibn Abi al-Izz al-Hanafi (d. 792H): And whoever hears the hadiths of the Messenger(S) and the WORDS of the SALAF, will find innumerable evidences of Allahs Elevation.. [Sharh al-'Aqeedah al-Tahawiyah by Ibn Abil-`Izz alHanafi (1/372,379-380)] Imam Al Barbahaari said:So whoever does NOT take from them(SAHABAH) has gone astray and innovated. [Kitab at-Tawheed, Chapter: The one who fulfils tawhid enters paradise without reckoning] MANHAJ e SAHABAH(7-q): Jalal al-Din Suyuti states, The various sects amongst the Ahl al-Bid`ah, who have based their spurious beliefs on their weak and fanciful understanding of the Qur`an, do not find a corresponding view amongst those [views] of the SAHABAH, the Tabiun & SALAF... (Al-Itqan, 2:178, from The Path of Sunnah) '....whoever OPPOSED the views presented by the Companions and the Followers(SALAF) is in grave ERROR; in fact, he is an MUBTADI, because the Companions and the Followers understood the tafsir of the Quran and its meanings BEST.. They have understood it as it ought to be, just as it was revealed to Nabi(S)..' (Al-Itqan, 2:178, from The Path of Sunnah) practice not [from] their practices.. (Hujjat Allah alBalighah, 1:335) Abdur Rahman as-Sadi (d.1376H): Know that from the agreed upon principles by the SALAF and the Imaams of this Ummah (Muslim nation) is belief in Asma wa Sifat... [in his Tafsir Kalaam al-Mannaan,Surah Fatihah] Muhammad Nasiruddin al-Albani (d.1420H): ''....when someone says: 'Im a salafi..' he says it instead of saying- i follow the Salaf as Salih of what they were upon Aqeedah, Ibaadah & Akhlaq... ...Therefore its NOT allowed for a muslim to free himself from ascription to Salaf as Salih.[an Nabathaa al-Wafee fee wajoob al-Intesab ila Salafeeyah p26-29]. MANHAJ e SAHABAH(8-b): Sh. Albaani(rh.)[CONTD...]:...Without doubt the CLEAR, MANIFEST, DISTUINGISHED, EVIDENT PROOF of this title & ascription which is to say 'Im a Muslim upon the Book(Quran) & Sunnah upon the Manhaj of Salaf as Saleh, & that is to SUMMARISE it by saying 'I'm a SALAFI'. [an Nabathaa al-Wafee fee wajoob al-Intesab ila Salafeeyah p26-29]. as for the one who ascribes himself to the SALAF ASSALIH collectively then he ascribes himself to that which is protected from mistakes [Al-Asaalah Magazine (no.9/p87)].. MANHAJ e SAHABAH(8-c): Shaykh bin al-Uthaymeen: Whoever came after them(SALAF) and traversed upon their way (Minhaaj) then he is like them upon the way of the Salaf; even though he may have come after them with regards to time because as-Salafiyyah is a designation which applies to the way (Minhaaj) which was traversed by the Salaf as-Saaleh. (Fataawa Noor alaa al-Darb: at-Tawheed wal-Aqeedah.) Shaykh Ahmad bin Yahyaa an-Najmee:: This was the way of the sahaabaah, may Allaah the most high be pleased with them all. As for the beliefs, then their manhaj (methodology) in this regard is one from the time of the Companions until now. (al-Fataawah al-Jaleeyah an al-Manaahij ad-Dawaiyyah)

MANHAJ e SAHABAH(8-d): Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan: The Jamaaah of as-Salafiyyah is the Jamaaah which is upon the truth, and it is the one that it is obligatory to belong to, act in accordance with and to ascribe to. And everything else from amongst the jamaaaat, then it is obligatory that they not be considered jamaaaat of dawah, because they are in opposition. How can we MANHAJ e SAHABAH(8-a): follow a sect that opposes the Jamaaah of Ahlus-Sunnah Imam Shah Waliullah Dahlawi writes, I say that the group and the guidance of the Salafus-Saalih?! which will attain salvation are those who hold fast in both Whatever opposes the Jamaaah of Salafiyyah, then it belief and practice to what is apparent from the Quran opposes the manhaj of the Messenger. It is in opposition and Sunnah, and this was the practice of the Sahaba & to whatever the Messenger and his Companions were Tabieen.. upon. -The group which will NOT attain salvation is one which .And everything else besides it, then it is not permissible adopts beliefs DIFFERENT to the beliefs of the SALAF or a for the Muslim to affiliate himself with any of that, because it is in opposition.
