Nutrition Week Report Mondok: We had Nutrition Week last week, this is the post-doc as requested by the president. Important because Nutrition Week will be a yearly thing. Flowoverview of events, achievements and improvements from last year, recommendations. Openingformal ribbon cutting. Lunch at Faber Hall, initiative of AMPC and Blue and Gold to treat the various admin. Weeklong votingstudents could vote on whether the meals per stall were in line with the theme, appropriate. Weeklong acoustic performances, AMPC, Blue and Gold. Healthy Plate Contest. Culminating was at MVP Roofdeck, awards, etc. Achievementsincreased visibility in Gonzaga Cafeteria, more efforts from various organizations, collaborative. Recommendationsearlier planning, establish connection and communication with food concessionaires, establish that is a student initiative. More collaborativeHEC, aMp. Green Fridays will be sustained for the rest of the year. Asking for feedback. Yu: Larisse deserves a round of applause. Institutionalization and integration. This was a project that's new, so we want to keep it alive, work with other people to get it to happen. Gomez: The stalls in Gonzagado change every year? And even for JSEC Challenge winners? Brief them on Nutrition Week to make sure they can participate. Mondok: Nutrition value of JSEC stalls is also an issue. Trying to work on it this year. Aldea: Coming from last year, congratulations. Vision of the project is being realized. Look at follow through. I think the Green Fridays would work. Would like to see the stalls getting the healthy plates, monitor more strictly what is done year by year. Mondok: We actually had MOAs with the concessionaires, not fully implemented. Andujare: Note what Sir Mallari said, nutritional value will be a criterion for JSEC Challenge. Transition to the next Nutrition Council rep.

NSTP Concerns Gomez: SOM sophomores mandated to get specialized SOM NSTP. Right now, it's the same. First month has been rough, rocky, problematic. Most have been addressed, but this is big. Gistefforts of the students are being wasted in teaching. Biggest problem is that the students lack [foundation knowledge]. We keep on teaching them new things that they cannot process because they do not have the necessary grounding to process. Can make a formal presentation if you want, but the gist is, can't we address foundation first instead of quantity over quality? Know it's mandated by law, but as it is, seems like we're just here to comply. They're not learning as much from us. Can we lobbyfocus on lapses rather than the gaps? Yu: Clarificationnot all concerns have to go through CB meetings. Can be addressed in committees. What do you want the CB as a whole to do? Gomez: I want something bigger than just giving concerns to the office. This requires something different. Change NSTP in itself. Brought it up as Pam and I are both sophomores, you've seen more than us. Asking for input. Yu: I hope later on we can distinguish some more. Can be addressed outside.

Yu: But since we're talking about it nowkung LTS 'to, do you have control over your curriculum? Gomez: No clear instruction, they just give us material. No specific way. Regarding curriculum, it depends on the pace of the students. No guide. Aldea: Main concern is no curriculum? Gomez: Change direction? Rather than teach them Grade 4 stuff, teach foundation knowledge? Aldea: More on partner community? Gomez: OSCI and the material they give. Aldea: What you have to suggest is not a prescription but a needs analysis. Cruz: Assess the situation before you propose a change. Basis na kailangan lower level or something else? Gomez: They have a diagnostic test, but they couldn't even answer that. Yu: Don't assume also that OSCI isn't doing their job. Understand the concern and the opinion is valid, but let's not forget that they have experience. Basis. Clarify na rin because they have expertise. Reyes: Take into account what areas are affected and how. Not all NSTPs are affected the same way.

NUSP Presentation Elago: I'm NUSPs partnerships and networking officer. We will squeeze in basic orientation. Alapad: Established 1957. Proud that one of our alumni is Edgar Jopson, former chair of Ateneo Sanggu. Basic Orientation Nationwide alliance of student councils and unions. Only student councils can be members. Do not recruit political parties or organizations, but we have a volunteer corps and affiliations. Principlespatriotic, democratic, progressive, student rights and welfare in universities and national scale, realize that student governments have a part in social problems like the plights of the farmers. Happy that Ateneo Sanggu and others are participating in campaigns in Zamboanga and Aurora. Everyone is welcome as long as we share the same core principles. Progressivewe recognize how student leaders are potent leaders of change. Unites all students in the country for the fundamental right to education. Objectiveswork for restoration and preservation of student councils. Advocate a nationalist, scientific, and mass-oriented education system in the country. Promote and protect people's

For NCR, having NCR Congress soon, UP Diliman, August 24. Student Trustees and Regents Congress We're here because we want to enjoin as many student councils as possible, influence public opinion. We can help student leaders in Mindanao State University. If ADMU talks, they will feel like their concerns are being heard even in Manila. Push government to act on different issues and concerns. Influence behavior of students. Problems of apathy and the like. Address collectively. Push public policies. We lobby, etc. Lobbying is nothing without movement of students behind us. Challenge to student councils to engage constituents. Attend our NCR Congress, schedule longer orientation for you guys. Includes national situationer, education situationer, etc. Will give invitations. Program flow for congress.

Head is Victor Villanueva, not here because he has Law School. Student Rights and Welfare Profilejoin. So we can have data from Ateneo. Investigation on issues and concerns of students. Hamoy: Does NUSP claim to be inclusive to everyone? Elago: Yes, for everyone under us. Hamoy: You have a strong advocacy on debatable topics like RH, Cybercrime, etc. My point is, you seem to profess pro-RH even if some are against, but you claim to be inclusive of all students views. Elago: Just showing the side that's pro-RH. Some regions are otherwise. Alapad: Represent students. If there are members with a different stand, we recognize it. You can still exercise your own opinion as a member. Exert effort to enjoin in campaign, and we have consultations. If they are sure of their stand, that's fine. Basic unity is education. Hamoy: Do you still say that you represent the minorities who don't agree with your stand? Elago: Yes. Even for our events that seem partisan, intended to be venue to widen scope, for people with views to discuss their stands. Yu: What particular participation are you willing to offer to the Sanggunian? Alapad: Need your experience in policy-making. The Sanggu is ahead in experience. Volunteers for groundwork for policy reforms. Elago: Met with DEA to propose collaboration in holding a forum as part of University TEDx series. Topicre-instigation of student councils and groups during martial law. Gomez: So NUSP as an entity doesn't make stands? Does NUSP make stands as a representative body? Alapad: We have our political stand in different issues. When it comes to RH, the stand is for reproductive health care as part of universal health care. Questions for specific bill. Elago: Main campaign is for right to education. Ocampo: You mentioned earlier, how different are you from SCAP? Do you allow student political parties? Alapad: In principle, we're way different from the organization that you mentioned. One, we are free from intervention from national political parties, governments, and other agencies. Two, historically, we are a breakaway from the original SCAP which was established by national government. Would like to maintain independence from national government. If we have a stand, not bounded. Membershipwe don't allow political parties because they have different principles. Student councils are student interest over party interest. Yu: ClarifyNUSP has no specific political ideology that it is forwarding? Alapad: No named ideology. Overview of constitution is progressive, patriotic, democratic.

Gomez: Structure? Alapad: Chair, Vice, Sec-Gen, island-wide VPs, regional chapters. Every chapter has different committees. Elago: Per chapter, different systems. For NCR, general membership to the chapter, individuals representing institutions can run after a year. Alapad: No student council member is allowed to hold a national position if not active member for two years. For quality. Remo: Topic on membership to be tackled in a separate meeting. Motion to change presidership to VP by 2 SOSE CB, seconded by 4 SOM CB. Motion approved unanimously.

Privilege Speech Remo: Address everyone in the CB, especially a few days before the start of elections. As we all know, by the time elections finish, we will have gone through half of our terms. Thank you for your time and dedicationpast few months, we've been operating at half power. For our CB reps, we've been operating lacking twelve CB reps. I know it's been difficult and I haven't expressed my gratitude enough. As we are about to welcome our new CB reps, regardless of your political formation, work with them as studiously and as openly as possible. Regardless of the outcome, we have to respect. This coming election, we really need everyone to come out and vote. Not just to fill in the missing seats, but we need to be able to reinvigorate the commitment of the student body for the Sanggunian. There is hope. I am confident that there will be this renewed trust. Work really begins after elections. Guide the new CBs, give them the expertise, impart to them all the knowledge you've acquired. On a personal note, I realize it's been very difficult with our responsibilities to the administration. When the new CBs come in, we will be reshuffling council representatives and CB committee chairmanships. If this body should not pursue the reshuffle, up to you. Time for introspection whether our leadership in various committees has led to its goals. We are now officially nearly halfway through our terms. Here's to the next six months.

Aldea: For candidates, how do we monitor political activity? Yu: Talk to COMELEC. Remo: All Sanggu offices are political-party-free for paraphernalia.
