EXCRETORY SYSTEM

Activity 7.1
Objective To know the smell of ammonia from the decomposition of urea in urine. Devices and materials Urine Measuring glass Reaction tube Tube pincher Spiritus lamp

Working Procedures Put in 1 ml of urine into reaction tube Heat by using spiritus lamp Smell the heated urine Questions Do by this activity, you smell ammonia the (stench of urine smell) ? Showing what process is the smell of ammonia in heated urine ? Conclusion Make the conclusion of this activity !

Activity 7.2
Objective Checking the presence or not albumin in urine Devices and materials Urine Dense nitrate acid Reaction tube Measuring glass Dropping pipette

Working Procedures Put in 25 ml of dense nitrate acid into the reaction tube. Slope that reaction tube than drop urine, 2-3 drops by using pipette slowly so urine goes down passing through along tube wall. Observe what is happening. If urine contains albumin will be seen the presence of white colored ring that is found in urine contact region and nitric acid. Questions Is there relationship between high albumin level in urine with someones health ? Explain ! Conclusion Make the conclusion of this activity !
