Just two hours north of Philadelphia, Spring Hills Farm is an exquisite countryside retreat with hills, firs, ponds, and grasses as far as the eye can see...an amazing place to paint. The farms 400 acres as well as individual studios and gazebos allow the artist to gather important visual information. All meals are homemade, organic, and served in the warmth and hospitality of the Hulls family farm. Shuttle service within the farm is included. Trip includes instruction, art history, meals, bunkhouse accommodations, and many extras. Transportation to and from farm is $50 and must be registered for in advance. Other accommodations on the farm are available for a nominal fee. Gallery-Hopping in Lancaster County with Bethany Rusen Fri., Sept. 27, 9 am-5 pm $102 M/$121 NM Join central PA native and Teaching Artist Bethany Rusen on a gallery-hopping adventure to explore the arts and culture scene in Lancaster County. First stop will be to the gallery and gift shop at the PA Guild of Craftsmen. After lunch at the Lancaster Central Market, Bethany will lead the group to the Lancaster Museum of Art in downtown Lancaster, as well as a number of galleries and studios. A final stop at the 20th Annual Strictly Functional Pottery National exhibition at the Market House Craft Center will conclude the trip. Transportation to and from the Art Center is included. Pottery Walking Tour of the Philadelphia Art Museum with Claire Rodgers Sat., Oct. 19, 10 am-1pm $65 M/$82 NM You havent truly experienced pottery at the Philadelphia Museum of Art until youve visited with an expert! Join Teaching Artist and experienced ceramic artist Claire Rodgers on an informative and fun walking tour through the PMAs pottery collection, from 3000 BC to the American pottery from the early 20th century. Learn to look at the ceramic works of art from a potters point of view: How was the piece made, glazed, and fired? What were the design decisions of these ancient potters? You will find that everything made today has been informed and inspired by those before us. Students will meet at the West entrance of the PMA. Museum admission is not included. Doylestown Delights with Carol Stirton-Broad: Moravian Pottery & Tile Works, Mercer Museum & Fonthill Castle Sat., Nov. 2, 9 am-5 pm $102 M/$121 NM Charming Doylestown, PA is steeped in artistic history. Experience a few of its many cultural gems with Teaching Artist Carol Stirton-Broad. We will start with a one-hour interpreter-led tour of the Fonthill Castle, home of Henry Chapman Mercer, archaeologist, anthropologist, ceramist, scholar, and antiquarian. Designated a National Historic Landmark, Fonthill attracts over 30,000 visitors annually to view Mercer's famed Moravian tiles that were produced during the American Arts & Crafts Movement. After a hands-on Day of the Dead activity inspired by our tour, well move along to the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works for a tour of its collection of tiles and original installations. Following the tour, the group will enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants in downtown Doylestown. Next up is an orientation and self-guided tour of the Mercer Museum, which features 50,000 artifacts, ranging from clock making tools to a Conestoga wagon. Tour of Fonthill is not fully accessible; please contact staff in advance if you have mobility issues. Tuition includes transportation to and from the Art Center and admission for all three sites. Museum with guidance from Teaching Artist Deirdre Murphy. Beginners to advanced artists will benefit from lessons in technique and discussions about content and inspiration. Barnes Foundation & Rodin Museum: Tour and Focus on the Figure Discussion with Deirdre Murphy Fri., Oct 11, 11 am-4 pm $91 M/$108 NM We will start out our day gathering inspiration at the Barnes Foundation. Our tour will focus on the figurative work within the collection. Drawing on location is not permitted at the Barnes, but we will gather inspiration and draw inspiration from the works at the Rodin Museum after lunch at the Whole Foods Cafeteria. Drawing stools will be provided by the museum. Artists may use graphite, however charcoal is not permitted. Students will meet at the Barnes Foundation and walk to the Rodin Museum. Admission is included; lunch will be on your own in the Whole Foods cafeteria. Philadelphia Museum of Art-Perelman Building & Main Collection with Deirdre Murphy Fri., Oct. 18, 10 am-4 pm $91 M/$108 First well enjoy a private viewing of works especially selected for our group found in the Abigail Rebecca Cohen Study Room of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs in the Perelman Building. Then we will draw in the Study Room, which features tables and chairs, and is typically only available by appointment. Artists may use graphite, however charcoal is not permitted. After our time in the Perelman and lunch at the PMA cafeteria, well end our day in the main building, where we will draw from the master collection. Stools will be available. Payment Options We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. Enrollment is accepted after FULL tuition is received. Read course descriptions carefully for dates, times, and required supplies. The Art Center only sends confirmation if we have a valid email address for the registrant. The Art Center may decline an individuals request to enroll in classes or participate in programs when necessary. Online Registration Policy After registering online, you will receive an email confirmation from the Art Center. Please keep this receipt for your records. If you do not receive an email confirmation, your registration Is not completeplease call the Art Center as soon as possible to ensure you are properly registered. The Art Center cannot reserve a students space in class if online registration is not completed successfully. Supply Lists It is the students responsibility to download supply lists from the Art Centers website (if applicable) or request a copy at the front desk Early Registration Discount Students registering through September 2 will receive a discount of $10 off their total registration fee (not valid for Summer Art Camp). Only one early registration discount can be used per household, per semester. Additional Class Discount Students who register for more than one class (of 4 weeks or more) will receive $10 off of each additional class thereafter. Students who register for more than one workshop (of 3 weeks or less) will receive $5 off each additional workshop thereafter. Offer only applies when registering for multiple programs in the same transaction. Discount not applicable for Family Workshops or Camps. will not be given for student absences due to personal schedule conflicts. The Art Center reserves the right to hire a substitute teacher when necessary. Withdrawal/Refund Policy *Memberships are nonrefundable. Trip deposits are nonrefundable unless the Art Center cancels the trip. *CLASSES: Programs lasting 4 weeks or more. All refunds made 10 days or more prior to the start of the class will be subject to a $15 processing fee. 25% of the tuition will be withheld for withdrawals that occur 1-9 days before the start of a class. 40% of the tuition will be withheld for withdrawals on or after the first day of class. No refunds will be given for withdrawals after the second class. *WORKSHOPS: Program lasting 3 weeks or less. All refunds made 10 days or more prior to the start of the workshop will be subject to a $15 processing fee. 25% of the tuition will be withheld for withdrawals that occur between 4 and 9 days before the start of a workshop. No refunds will be given for withdrawals less than 4 days before the start of the workshop. Memberships are nonrefundable. Trip deposits are non-refundable unless the Art Center cancels the trip.

Switching Classes & Joining Classes Late Students are permitted to switch from one class/workshop to another within a given semester if they do not which to continue with their current program. In this case, the above withdrawal fees will be waived. With the instructors permission, students may join a class that has already started and the tuition will be prorated. Scholarships Scholarships are available based on financial need. Contact the office for an application or download one from the website. The deadline for applications is September 2 after which applications will be viewed collectively. Applications submitted after the deadline will be considered on a first come, first serve basis until funds are dispersed. For more info, see the policies on the application form. Publicity Policy We reserve the right to use photos taken our programs for publicity purposes. Registration in a class gives the Art Center permission to use images without further consent or compensation. From time to time, the Art Center shares its mailing list with partner organizations so that students can receive info about related activities. Students may opt out of this list by emailing info@mainlineart.org. Student Property The Art Center is not responsible for artwork and other property left on the premises and gas no liability of such property is lost, stolen or damaged, except in instances when artwork is displayed in gallery exhibitions and covered by insurance. Artwork or property left two weeks after the semester ends will be discarded. Weather-Related Closures Classes may be cancelled due to severe weather. Emergency Forms Every child under the age of 18 is required to have a current Child Emergency Form on file with the office. Adult students are required to inform the office if they have a medical condition that the staff or faculty should be aware of in an emergency.
