What is Laser Acupuncture?

What is Laser Acupuncture? Laser acupuncture is a form of acupuncture stimulation which has proven to be a safe effective alternative to standard acupuncture treatment. For quality products designed for Laser Acupuncture click here. For more information on what Laser Acupuncture is and how it works click here. There are several advantages to using the lasers over needles: Biologically, the laser bio-stimulation will increase the cell production in connective, tendonous, and cartilaginous tissue. This results in increased collagen production. Research demonstrates that the laser affects the mitochondria thereby enhancing the production and synthesis of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) and optimizes oxygenation and phagocytes.

The healing process increases the tensile strength of healed tissue, reduces swelling, increases blood flow, increases lymphatic activity, reduces inflammation and increases cellular metabolism and speeds the repair process. The results are accumulative.

4 Distinct Effects 1. Growth factor response within cells and tissues. 2. Pain relief as a result of increased endorphin and serotonin release. 3. Increased lymphatic activity and strengthening of the immune system response. 4. Stimulation of acupuncture points, increased collagen and ATP production, increased circulation. Treatment is non-destructive, safe, and painless. The more you use it, the more effective the results.

635 nm Red Laser

The complete treatment kit includes:

1 - 635 nm. red laser, Class III-A 5 mw, 2 AAA batteries 1 - patented LaserLift tip

6 - 4.25 mm. sanitary disposable tips 6 - 2.75 mm. sanitary disposable tips

2 - dental tips "Auricliotherapy" Chart "Trigger Points Treatment" chart

"Motor Points Treatment" chart "Dental Points Treatment" chart "Travel Case"

This complete laser acupuncture treatment program meets USA - FDA Laser Safety Regulations. This quality 635 nm red laser with an output of 5 mw, is powered by two AA batteries (included) comes in a protective, metal case. It utilizes a series of patented Laserlift products designed by doctors to limit eye exposure from laser scatter light radiation. They accomplish this goal by collimating the laser beam, using sanitary, disposable tips. These tips come in two sizes, which allows safe stimulation of acupuncture points. This is the same laser used by Doctors Home Facelift for stimulation of acupuncture points and treating facial wrinkles. The smaller tip is very useful for auriculotherapy and for points close to the eyes. Dental tips are perfect for oral use. These quality units should not be confused with inexpensive laser pointers which are in the range of 650 670 nm. Research demonstrates that a wavelength of 635 nm (1 nanometer is 1/billionth of a meter) is the frequency of a healthy cell and is optimal for healing and most beneficial for stimulating acupuncture points. Usage instructions and charts are included showing treatment points for trigger point therapy, motor points, auriculotherapy, dental points, and microsystems of the hand and foot reflexology. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

F.A.Q.s Q. Is it Safe? A. Yes, the laser is supplied with a patented product (The Laser Lift). This device allows the use of disposable, sanitary tips designed to collimate the laser beam for safe use. Q. Is it FDA approved?

A. The laser is FDA approved. A sticker is displayed on each laser and must not be altered or removed. Low level laser therapy is considered investigational by the FDA and no medical claims of cures are permitted in the USA at this point in time. Q. What are the benefits of low level laser therapy? A. Other than stimulating the proper acupoints the laser stimulates ATP production (body fuel). When ATP increases it results in improved cellular metabolism, the immune response is stimulated, lymphatic drainage is improved and the bodies natural healing Q. How does this procedure work? A. The procedure is actually quite simple in practice and theory. It is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine concepts and recent research into the effects of low level laser light on human tissues. Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches us that the body's health is effected and regulated by the natural flow of energy, called "Qi" (pronounced "Chee"). This energy or Qi can be altered, congested or stopped by internal or external forces (such as wind, cold, dampness, viruses, bad food, etc.) resulting in reduced vitality and an increased susceptibility to disease. Over the millennia, Chinese Physicians have discovered that treatment of certain specific points, sometimes called "Acupoints", can have profound and predictable effects on numerous disease conditions. Treatment of these Acupoints may be effected in a number of ways, such as pressure, heat, cold, the insertion of fine needles or laser light for example. Recent studies in the West have found that laser light is very effective in stimulating these Acupoints and in the promotion of positive tissue changes, like increased collagen production, decreased inflammation (swelling), improved wound repair and more. Low Level Lasers, such as those used in the Laser Lift Program, are being used post-surgically to reduce bleeding and promote the growth of repair tissue in Dental and other applications.

Q. Are there any conditions which would prevent me from using low level lasers in this program? A. No, the effects of laser treatment are usually beneficial to the body, however if you are taking medications for skin conditions which require protection from light contact your dermatologist before using lasers. The lasers we recommend are single band (color red as opposed to the white of normal light) 635nm, 5 mW intensity and have no known contraindications for use. Studies have found laser light enhances tissue growth, wound healing and immune system functioning and are safe to use (however, lasers should never be pointed directly into the eyes). Q. Can light and laser devices help other conditions? A. Actually, yes. Lasers have been used post-surgically to reduce bleeding and enhance would healing, especially in individuals with diabetes. Studies have shown laser therapy to increase the growth of tissue products such as collagen, stimulate repair cells called fibroblasts and enhance immune system functioning to name a few. Conditions such as acne, rosacae, eczema, skin ulcerations and dermatitis have had amazing results with laser therapy. Though Low Level Laser Therapy is not a replacement for sound Medical diagnosis and treatment, most any condition which might respond to Traditional Chinese Medicine will respond to laser therapy. Always consult your healthcare provider for treatment of any condition or illness. Q. Does this mean I can treat all that stuff myself? A. Patients undergoing Photo Luminescent face lift therapy have incidentally noted improvement in a host of conditions such as Acne, dry skin, muscle pain, arthritis and even headaches, however Acupuncture treatment is more condition and circumstance specific. In other words, training and diagnosis are required! Consultation with an associated healthcare professional is necessary for proper treatment of any health condition.

Q. What's so special about Low Level Lasers? A. We have found that Photo Luminescence via Low Level Laser Therapy is safe, effective, inexpensive and easy to use and are showing up nearly everywhere. Out of concern for the safe use of Low Level Lasers, we recommend the use of a high quality Laser device for photo-luminescence and provides a collimator and sanitary tips for Laser use. This provides a safer, more focused beam for easy and specific treatment. Although there have not been any adverse effects of Low Level Laser light reported, all manufacturers of Lasers caution against shining Laser light into the eyes. Though our collimators cannot completely prevent this, they do remove scatter and allow for precise placement of the Laser treatment device to greatly reduce changes of injury. Q. Are there any complications to the treatments? A. No, although acupuncture is considered an experimental therapy in the USA it has been practiced safely in China for over 3,000 years. Low level laser is a very safe and effective form of therapy used to stimulate the acupoints. Q. What are the benefits of low level laser therapy? A. Other than stimulating the proper acupoints the laser stimulates ATP production (body fuel). When ATP increases it results in improved cellular metabolism, the immune response is stimulated, lymphatic drainage is improved and the bodies natural healing processes are enhanced.
