Dear Harrold,

Mission Manor

//J (AJ

Sorry we didn't receive your letter in time to comply with your time limit, but perhaps you can use this anyvvay. Here is the news story that you asked for.
"During April it has been possible to start an immunization program in several

villages.

I spent three days in one village vaccinating about 250 people ( the eifc ire

village) for smallpox and many of them for typhoid. The children in addition to these also vrere given diphtheria and v/hooping cough vaccinations. At this village we showed
the Life of Christ colored film strips on three successive nights to a crowd of about 200 people. Since it is necessary to go several more times to finish the serie s of vaccinations, there vrill be an opportunity for further teaching each tine. "At the leper village to it has been riossible to vaccinate all the peo pie.

Following the death of three children in Chiengkam (two of them perhaps from Dijiitiheria)
we have been beseaged with requests to give diphtheria vaccinations to many children.

On Saturday 55 children were vaccinated in less than tv/o hours.

Thru this and the reg

ular clinic work we have many contacts with the people and many opportunities to wit ness to them and give them tracts.

"On Simdays I teach the children's Bible class at the leper village and have an average attendance of about 15 children from 10-16 years of age. Most of these have
accepted Christ and been baptized.

"There are constantly increasing caiLLs both in Chiengkam and to the outlying villages and increasing opportunities to witness for Christ as one becomes more pro
ficient in the language."

Sincerely yours.

Some of these were discovered when they came to clinic for medicins for some otbjsr ailment,

and they are taught when they come in for medicine.
