Q: What is DocuMint?

A: DocuMint is Honeywell’s PC-based automated maintenance documentation solution. The

system is used in conjunction with field calibrators and PC platforms to standardize and record
maintenance procedures in the plant. DocuMint includes a comprehensive configuration that
enables customers to define and record maintenance test/calibration procedures, frequencies, and
detail information on each device (instrument, pump, motor, control valve, etc.).This information
is used to download maintenance procedures to field platforms that assure consistent procedures,
accept manual or automatic field work data, and automatically upload this information back into
the DocuMint software.

Q: Why would someone purchase DocuMint?

A: The DocuMint system is purchased to optimize the maintenance effort while satisfying
compliance requirements (ISO, OSHA, FDA, EPA, etc.); however, users also benefit from the
evaluation tools included with DocuMint. The evaluation can be focused on calibration
procedures, instrument specifications, long-term performance, comparing
manufacturers, optimizing test/inspection intervals, and much more. A secondary reason for
purchasing DocuMint is to optimize manpower productivity. Through better instrument data
organization, ease of data access, standard calibration procedures, and the use of automated
calibration standards, some customers claim efficiency improvements of as much as 80%.

Q: How much effort is required to implement DocuMint?

A: If all required instrument and calibration data is available in some electronic format, then the
data population of DocuMint can be relatively easy. However, if data has to be collected and
created, then the data collection effort can be quite significant. DocuMint provides many tools
that can be used for data population—ODBC, import routines, direct data import from Asset
Manager and import of data directly from HART instruments.

Q: Is training necessary to use DocuMint?

A: Honeywell strongly recommends Administrator, Key User, and Technician training to make
quick and efficient use of DocuMint. The faster that good calibration practices are put into place,
the faster the returns on investment will be realized. Honeywell offers standard training sessions
to meet all system usage goals—offering Basic, Administrator, Technician, Power User and
Developer training classes.

Q: What are some examples of Field Entry Device (FED) applications?

A: The FED option enables the user to automate instrumentation and equipment maintenance
procedures in the field using a laptop computer, a PDA, or tablet computer. The standard FED
offering on a PDA includes Manual Analog, Manual Binary, Manual Event, and the ability to
take a copy of an entire instrument database. From simple observations to the most stringent of
procedures, FED can be specifically customized to suit all test and inspection needs.

Q: What are configuration services?

A: Configuration services include any database modifications requested—this might include
field and database structure modification, form design, special scripts, calculations, graphs, and
reports.
Q: Can customers perform their own configuration modifications?
A: Database configuration changes can be made by customers who attend the DocuMint
Developer training session. Upon successful completion of the Developer training session, the
trainee will be given a set of configuration tools that can be used to make any modification. As
we know, knowledge is power, and power can both build and destroy. Honeywell provides the
developer's toolset only after the appropriate training has been completed.

Q: Does DocuMint RX comply with the FDA requirements of 21CFR Part 11?
A: Honeywell can provide a document for the purpose of detailing the DocuMint RX functional
specification and how those specifications relate to each part of 212CFR Part 11. Each DocuMint
RX user in a regulated environment is responsible for determining its compliance with applicable
law, regulations, and guidelines.

Q: Can DocuMint integrate with Experion?

A: Honeywell’s DocuMint solution can use Tree Builder and Asset Manager to import TagID
information from the Experion process control system. DocuMint can also use Experion’s
Softmux to access HART devices that are connected to the Experion system.

Q: Can DocuMint send symptom information to Alert Manager?

A: Yes, several standard data tests have been designed into the standard DocuMint software to
create symptom information per customer requirements.
