MBA (Insurance) 2008-10 Batch

Reg: Summer Training.

As part of course curriculum, all the students are required to undergo Summer Training of
two months in a company from 18th May to 17th July, 2009. They are also, in addition,
given certain assignments as part of training. The object of training is not only to give an
insight into the working of an organization but to gain access to their marketing and
operational strategies by practical experience and exposure to different company
practices. Similarly other exercises which are included in this training will enable them
to build their confidence and communication skills while dealing with the public. Each
activity has been assigned marks.

The first report as per Annexure-I will have to be submitted to the Institute by 19th May,
2009 by way of email to insurance@asias.amity.edu while the report on Annexure-II will
have to be submitted by 21st June, 2009 on same e-mail ID of the Institute. It is the
responsibility of the student to ensure that he/she has sent the report and cannot claim
exemption on account of mail having bounced. Therefore, the students should keep their
IDs under watch as it will be a source for all contact with and from the institution.

The Project Report containing all the activities undertaken during the course of the
training is to be submitted immediately on joining back the institute. In addition, the
students will have to undertake the following:

01. Visits to NGO/Childrens’ Home/SOS Village or any Foundation engaged in


social activities and a report thereon to be submitted by 23rd June09 by e-
mail.

02. Book Review

The students are required to review a book on self-development or any book


related to management or on the lives of public leaders etc. They will be required
to make a presentation on the gist of the book and how it has helped them in
development of their personality. They must identify and frame three questions
from each chapter of the book and submit the same along with the book
immediately on return.

The allocation of marks will be as under:

- Visit to NGO, Childrens Home/SOS Village and timely submission : 10 Marks


of Report by 23rd June, 2009.

- Submission of Book with name written thereon and hard copy


of the presentation with questions on 21st July, 2009 : 20 Marks

- Project Report : 70 Marks (Max)

- Viva on the project :100 Marks

The Project Report of the training is to be submitted immediately on joining back i.e. on
21st July 2009. Failure to do so will attract a fine of Rs.50/- per day till the date of
submission. If a student does not submit the report and or appear for the viva after
training, he/she will be debarred from qualifying the program.

The classes will commence from 21st July, 2009 and the attendance will be online in the
class itself.
