Course Syllabus
Art is a 12 week course.
Course Description: This course will cover basic two and three dimensional techniques. This will be accomplished through demonstrations, presentations and instructional video. Students will be learning the elements of arts and the principles of design and how they relate to art. Assignments: Assignments will be given and posted in the art room and on SchoolView. Due dates will be assigned to each assignment and will be adhered to unless otherwise informed. It is the responsibility of the student to get their work done without falling behind on the next assignment. If you cannot complete a project or assignment on time, it is your responsibility to speak with me about an extension. Unexcused or missing work will result in an incomplete or failing grade. Grading: Students will be graded according to their comprehension of the issues and assignments presented in class, their solution to the assignments and their general effort (please see attached Grading Criteria rubric). Active participation is required in critiques and discussion. The standard grading scale will be used to calculate final grades. 100%-90%=A, 89%-80%=B, 79%-70%=C, 69%-60%=D, below=F Grades will be posted on SchoolView as quickly as I can get them up. Attendance: Attendance, punctuality, and productive participation are required. Attendance may be taken at any time during the class period. If a student misses a class, it is the students responsibility to get the assignment from the instructor or a fellow class student. It is also the students responsibility to get notes on missed presentations or demonstrations. Students are expected to attend class with all material needed for the assignment at hand.
