    On behalf of the Kingonomics Board of Directors and 50th Anniversary Co-Chairs, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Kingonomics Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Investment & Crowdfunding Conference & Gala Reception. Fifty years ago, more than 250,000 Americans marched from across America to our nation’s capital for jobs, freedom and justice. This remains our clarion call to action today. While Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is often remembered for his fight for equality and freedom for all, many do not realize how keenly focused he was on economic issues. My latest book, Kingonomics: Twelve Innovative Currencies for Transforming Your Future & Life, examines Dr. King’s last cause — economic freedom — and offers critical tools to address today’s increasingly unpredictable economic climate. This week’s event is the culmination of tireless work and commitment to advancing Dr. King’s vision and empowering young entrepreneurs. We especially thank our Presenting Partners: Rebirth Financial, Certus Bank, Shark Tank, OfferBoard, and Opportunity Hub. We also thank the more than 100 honorees and experts that have donated their time and intellectual capital. We also thank Damien Conners, Dr. Bernard Lafayette, Dr. Charles Steele, Bob Adelman, Russ Hall, Tim Moore, Michael Vacarro, Abe Chang and Judy Twersky, who created a stirring photo-journal entitled, 206 “I Have A Dream: A 50th Year Testament To The March That Changed America.” We thank our Co-Chairs, including Mark Burnett, Roma Downey, Chonchol Gupta, Chris Tyrell, Pastor Anthony G. Maclin, Londell McMillan, Jamie Foster Brown, Angela Avant, Jervis Hough, James Andrews, Dorothy Cook, Danita Harn, Adrienne Lance Lucas, Gene Wright, Royal Jackson, David Drake, Endura Govan, Maurice Anderson, Bishop Edward Stephens, Denise Mitchem, and Kristin Oblander. We were fortunate to have an outstanding team working behind the scenes to make this event a success. Thank you to Allegra, Carolina, Stephanie, Felita, Dominion, Joy, Kimberley, Jillian, Sue Ann and Earl, and the many volunteers. Thank you to my loving wife and children, who remain supportive and actively engaged in the planning and decision- making process throughout this entire journey. Again, we thank you for making Kingonomics at the 50th Anniversary of The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom an overwhelming experience.
