Warren New Tech High School Knights

Warren New Tech High School (WNTHS) opened in 2007 in conjunction with the North Carolina New Schools Project and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. WNTHS is also part of the STEM schools network (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). WNTHS is one of on hundred schools in the New Technology Network, based in Napa, California. In 2009, New Tech Foundation partnered with Knowledge Works, creating our New Tech Network. Today, WNTHS is a full scale high school with grades nine through twelve, we held our first graduation in May 2011. 100% of our graduating seniors were accepted to a two year/four year college or university.

Project Based Learning


Project Based Learning, (PBL) is an effective learning model that is founded on the principle that, learning is partly a social activity. Students at WNTHS learn curriculum material through the completion of several projects throughout the year. Through the core projects, students are learning to solve problems by beginning with the end in mind. They are completely aligned with NC Standards. Classes at New Tech are studentdirected with teachers as facilitators rather than lecturers. It begins with an entry document highlighting the tasks, the learning that will be discovered, and end with a presentation before a panel professionals from the community.

You can participate in Sports and the Band through Warren County High School You will take VGCC courses and may earn 4 transferrable college credits. You will interact with the community through projects and internships, guest speakers and community service

You will have access to your own computer in every classroom

Students participated in a Communication Studies project on the Harlem Renaissance where they actually became the individuals they researched.
