II. SYNOPSIS Act of Valor is a fictionalized account of real life of Navy SEAL operations. When a mission to recover a kidnapped CIA operative Morales in Costa Rica unexpectedly results in the discovery of an imminent, terrifying global threat, an elite team of highly trained Navy SEALs must immediately embark on a heart-stopping secret operation, the outcome of which will determine the fate of us all. Christo's men kill Ross and capture Morales, bringing her to a riverside compound. Christo orders her to be tortured but kept alive until she tells the smugglers what she knows. SEAL Team Seven is then deployed to Costa Rica to exfiltrate Morales.The story thickens when its revealed that Shabal and Troykovich were childhood friends in Russia and are now working together to smuggle a new type of bomb vest. An instrument of terror that uses plastic explosives and ceramic ball bearings to work like a claymore mine, can evade metal detectors. On the amphibious assault ship, Senior Chief Petty Officer Miller, the operations officer of the SEAL team, informs Rorke that Mikey will survive but has lost his sight in one eye. Lieutenant Rorke gives a letter to Dave in case he is killed.The SEALs and Mexican forces assault the factory, hiding in dump trucks. As they reach the tunnels, an enemy fighter drops an F1 fragmentation grenade into the room. Only Lieutenant Rorke sees the grenade land. Realizing his team cannot escape the room in time, he dives on the grenade and it detonates, mortally wounding him. Dave pursues the terrorists alone, while Sonny tends to Rorke. Dave catches up to the terrorists as they try to escape through the tunnels, but shoots seven of them as they flee into the entrance. However, Shabal appears and fires nearly thirty rounds from an AK-47 into Dave, destroying his weapon in addition to wounding him critically. Dave draws his sidearm and kills the eighth suicide bomber as he runs into the tunnel. Shabal approaches Dave and prepares to execute him, but is killed by Sonny.At home, Rorke is given a military funeral with full honors, while Dave survived his injuries. The SEALs pay their respects, punching the gold SEAL tridents that signify them as SEALs into Rorke's coffin. It is then revealed that Dave's narration throughout the movie was a written letter meant for Rorke's son, explaining the valor of the father he will never know, and ending with the poem "Live Your Life" by Tecumseh. Act of Valor combines stunning combat sequences, up-to-the-minute battlefield technology, and heart-pumping emotion for the ultimate action adventure filmshowcasing the skills, training and tenacity of the greatest action heroes of them all: real Navy SEALs.

III. MOVIE ANALYSIS 1. How does the film Act of Valor evoke the sense or meaning of peace in you? The film Act of Valor written by Kurt Johnstad , directed by Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh evoke the sense or meaning of peace to us by giving us various situations that could happen or actually happen here in our country. It made us interesting; on how could we help our country to preserve the peace. Peace is the condition that exists when nations or other groups are not fighting, the treaty that ends war. This film could help the youth like us to give importance with the peace that we had today. Act of Valor features a gripping story that takes us audiences on an adrenalinefueled, edge-of-their-seat journey. We found that soldiers are heroes who offered their lives to achieve freedom to every one of us. They sacrifice their own family, houses and lives to fight terrorism with dignity. We can help our country and we can be heroes in our own little way without killing people and destructing properties. Thus, we can attain peace from non violence act to defend our country and our fellow Filipinos. 2. How do the following concept come into play in the issue of terrorism? 2.1 Family Family is considered as the most basic unit of organization. So as the issue of terrorism occur, the family was the first affected. The concept of family was portrayed in the film when Lt. Rorke, a soldier and his wife was affected by the war between the terrorist and the government. Because of the terrorist, Lt. Rorke left his pregnant wife to be able to do his responsibility as soldier. It is not easy for his wife to handle the responsibility without his husband , she take care of their first baby alone. Unfortunately, he never have a chance to see his child growing and live together in their house with his wife because he died in their encounter with the terrorist. This is one of the scenario in the world that can destruct a family. 2.2 Brotherhood One of the scenes that we can consider brotherhood is when Dave catches up to the terrorists as they try to escape through the tunnels, but shoots seven of them as they flee into the entrance. As they reach the tunnels, an enemy fighter drops an F1 fragmentation grenade into the room. Only Lieutenant Rorke sees the grenade land. Realizing his team cannot escape the room in time, he dives on the grenade and it detonates, mortally wounding him. Dave pursues the terrorists alone, while Sonny tends to Rorke. Lt. Rorke exemplified brotherhood and the rest of the squad. 2.3 Government Government is the system of control and regulation of social activities by the state. In the film, USA Government made a lot of things just to protect the people

against terrorists. Terrorism is the actual or threatened violence for political ends. It is an antigovernment groups throughout the world turned to violent acts such as bombing, hijacking, kidnapping and murder. It is extremely hard to bring terrorists to justice, however. Their groups are small, tightly organized and highly mobile. The government prioritize first the people in their country from terrorism.
