Today the Governor received a slate of three nominees to fill the El Paso County

Court vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable James S. Patterson. A


brief biography of each of the nominees is provided below.

The three nominees are:

Robin Lynn Chitum of Colorado Springs is currently a magistrate judge in El Paso


County, a position she has held since September 2008. Her docket includes
permanent protection orders in domestic violence cases, criminal cases and other
disputes (70%); evictions, civil contempt, civil default judgments, county
replevin actions, and related matters (30%). Prior to her appointment to the
bench, Chitum served eleven years as a Deputy District Attorney in El Paso County.
Magistrate Judge Chitum earned her B.A. from Michigan State University (1992) and
her J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law (1996).

Michael Flynn Feeney of Colorado Spring is currently a district court magistrate


judge in the Forth Judicial District, a position he has held since February 2009.
His docket consists primarily of domestic proceedings. Prior to his appointment
to the bench, Magistrate Judge Feeney’s private practice included criminal law,
bankruptcy law, social security law, civil litigation, mediation, and mental
health cases. Magistrate Judge Feeney earned his B.A. from Colorado College (1980)
and his J.D. from Drake University (1984).

Marla Rochelle Prudek of Colorado Springs is currently a partner at Gentry and


Prudek, LLP since January 2005, where she practices general civil and criminal
defense with an emphasis in sexual offenses, child abuse, domestic violence, and
homicide. Ms. Prudek also has experience in professional liability law,
dependency and neglect cases, serving as a guardian ad litem, ERISA, military law,
personal injury law, equine law, insurance law, and administrative law. Ms.
Prudek earned her B.A. from Carroll College (1982) and her J.D. from University of
Puget Sound School of Law (1985).
