ABOUT BARA DISTRICT


Bara district is one of the terai district of central Development Region of Nepal. The District is border with Rauthat district in the east, Makawanpur district in the north, parsa district in the west and India(Bihar State) in the south. Kalaiya is the headquarter of the dictrick, which is located at 187 km south of the capital, Kathmandu and 12 km east of Trade capital of Nepal, Birgunj. The total area of district is 1296 sq. km. The district is divided into four electoral constituencies, fifteen Ilakas, Ninety-eight Village Development Committee (VDC) and one Municipality. Bara District is also the major transit point of east-west highway, Mahendra Rajmarg. The highway connects eastern part of Nepal to the rest of Nepal. Bara District is also one of the fastest growing industrial center of Nepal. Several major industries have setup their establishment in the district. Periodical & Master Plan

On 30-04-2059 B.S. the His Majesty Government of Nepal, formulated a nine members committee to operate the local governing body smoothly, under the presidency of Local Development Officer (LDO). The decision was made using the rights and power mentioned in the Section 239 of local governance act 2055 B.S. The committee has formulated the district development plan for the fiscal year 2060 /2061 B.S. according to the rights and power of Section 199 of local governance regulation 2056 B.S. The committee has duly incorporated suggestions submitted by political parties, private sectors and social societies. The plan has given priorities to the incomplete plans and actions in past plans. Some of the major issues covered in the plans are:

Citizen Charter 2060

The citizen charter 2060 is an information booklet that provides various information regarding services provided by District Development committee. This is a positive step taken by every district in Nepal to fulfill the objective of Local Development Act 2055 B.S. and Local Development Regualtions 2056 B.S. The local development acts and regulation focuses on decentralization of governance, transparency and good governance at local level

OBJECTIVE OF CITIZEN CHARTER 2060 1. The citizrn charter 2060 provides informations regarding services provided by District Development Committee. 2. It clearly mentions the type of services provided by DDc, related departement for the service, requirements and procedure to complete the service, and required time. 3. Relization of good governance to the local people by providing quality services
