Creative Writing 2012 2013 My Life so far Although your lives have been relatively short thus far, you have still had many experiences and created many memories that have helped to shape your personality. For this project, you are to think back and evaluate your life, documenting 3 events or people that have genuinely had an impact on you. You can be as personal as you want to be, but dont feel as though you must divulge your deepest secrets. Your people and/or events must be school appropriate. Your Task: 1. Choose 3 events or people. 2. Visually represent each event with picture or collage. This should be done in either PowerPoint OR a school-compatible movie maker. a. Reminder: this will be presented. 3. Create 2 poems and 1 short story. 4. Present your pictures, 1 of your 2 poems, and your short story to your classmates during your scheduled exam period. Criteria: Your poems must be of at least 10 lines in length. They must each contain at least 4 different literary devices from those that we have covered throughout this semester. Your short story must be between 1 complete page minimum and 3 pages maximum. It must follow Freytag's pyramid and should contain at least 2 literary devices. All writing must be typed and adhere to MLA format. These projects will be due on Monday January 24. They will be presented in class and make up 80 points of your final exam grade. The remaining 20 points will come from the written exam.
