BIO IDs-A SECURIY GUARANTEED SYSTEM S.KRISHNA PRIYA D.ATCHUTHA priyatchu@gmail.com achulibi95@gmail.com SRI RAMAKRISHNA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, COIMBATORE-10.
Most systems that control access to financial transactions, computer networks, or secured locations identify authorized persons by recognizing passwords or personal identification numbers. The weakness of these systems is that unauthorized persons can discover others passwords and numbers quite easily and use them without detection. Biometric identification systems, which use physical features to check a persons identity, ensure much greater security t han password and number systems. Biometric features such as the face or a fingerprint can be stored on a microchip in a credit card, for example, If someone steals the card and tries to use it, the impostors biometric features will not match the features stored in the card, and the system will prevent the transaction. Biometric technologies are becoming the foundation of an extensive array of highly secure identification and personal verification solutions. A single feature, however, sometimes fails to be exact enough for identification and also using only one feature is not always readable. For example, some five percent of people have fingerprints that cannot be recorded because they are obscured by a cut or a scar or are too fine to show up well in a photograph. This paper presents a system called Bio ID which is developed to identify a person using different features-Face, voice, lip movement, iris recognition, and finger and palm geometry. With its three modalities, Bio ID achieves much greater accuracy than single feature systems.

DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING USING SMART BIOMETRIC SOLUTIONS DEEPAN.B BALAKARTHIKEYAN.C mdnrj3@gmail.com balahero18@gmail.com K.S.RANGASAMY COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY, THIRUCHENCODE
Biometrics is the science of measuring and statistically analyzing biological data. In information technology, biometrics refers to the use of a persons biological characteristics for personal identif ication and authentication. Fingerprint, iris-scan, retinalscan, voiceprint, signature, handprint and facial features are some of the most common types of human biometrics. Digital signal processors (DSPs), which are specially designed single-chip digital microcomputers that process electrical signals generated by electronic sensors (e.g., cameras, fingerprint sensors, microphones, etc.), will help to revolutionize this world of biometrics. The core of the biometric authentication process is made up of image processing and pattern matching or minutiae comparison algorithms. And the programmable DSP, with architecture well-suited for implementing complex mathematical algorithms, can efficiently address all the processing needs of such a system. The following information introduces the concept of a complete biometrics system solution based on semiconductor components, development tools, and software solutions. Additionally, the various concepts that outline the inherent advantages of a DSP in a biometric system - better accuracy, faster recognition and lower cost, all leading to smarter biometrics - will also be covered.

IMAGE DE-NOSING VIA A LEARNED DICTIONARY SUDHARSON.D G.PRIYADARSHINI sudharsonswich@gmail.com SRI KRISHNA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, COIMBATORE
In this project we address that, sparsity has shown to be useful in source separation. In most cases, the sources are not sparse currently and needs to sparsify them using a known dictionary. The problem here is that, if the sparse domain is not available then it will be difficult to recover the sources using the current algorithms. In-order to address this problem we fuse the dictionary into the source separation. We define a cost function based on the idea and propose by extending the de-nosing method and minimize it. The terms parse refers to signals or images with small number of non - zeros with respect to some representation bases. In sparse component analysis (SCA), the assumption is that the sources can be sparsely represented using a known common basis or dictionary. The existing system defines that the techniques like MCA which is used provide a noisy mixture and present the source. In the proposed technique Fast ICA algorithm which employs a modified Gaussian for blind source separation. The proposed non-linear function which is used to separate image mixture and result in faster execution and in good quality image separation.
l.BRAIN TUMOR DETECTION USING AUTOMATED SEEDED REGION GROWING I.AKILA L.MYTHILY akilanandhi@gmail.com mythili2306@gmail.com SRI SHAKTHI INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY.
A brain tumor occupies a space within the skull that can interfere with normal brain activity. Scrupulous detection and segmentation of Brain tumor in MRI image is a tiresome task. Segmentation is a burdensome task in MRI images. The MRI image is a high contrast image that indicates regular and irregular tissues which helps to distinguish the overlapping in margin of each limb. But when the edges of the tumor are not sharp then the segmentation results are not accurate as it may lead to over or under segmentation. If the segmentation results are not accurate then the consequent measurements also will not be accurate. Therefore a modified method of tumor detection and segmentation is necessary. The existing methods consume lot of time and produce unsatisfactory results when the tumor is large. The proposed method automated seeded region growing method to identify tumor boundaries can be converted into fully automated approach thereby making it faster and much accurate than the existing methods. In this paper the seed point selection is done based on both intensity and texture. Since two characteristics are integrated the results are more accurate. Following the seed selection the region growing is done using 8 connected neighbor egion growing method. Since it is automated it saves lot of human interference and can be of high use in places where seed selection is a tedious task.

A voltage gradient is created with respect to the change in human body temperature by the serially connected thermocouples which form the thermo pile. The generated voltage is chopped amplified and is used to charge the battery and the power status is maintained by EBL circuit
PERCEPTUAL COMPUTATION OF POINTING DEVICE FOR HANDICAPPED AND PARALYZED PEOPLE K.SAKTHI GANESAN K.IBRAHIM sganesan.raj@gmail.com kibrahimsha4@gmail.com KPR COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, COIMBATORE
This paper explains the basic idea to build a human machine interface which can be used to control mouse using head-tilt and eye-blink. This device can be found to be most useful by physically handicapped people who can no longer control the computers using their hands. Since the device relies on users head and eye movement, it can be used even by patient who are paralyzed from shoulder downward. Simple head movement doesnt require too much energy and neither does eye blinking. Therefore user wont g et tired from using this device. In this device we are using 2D-accelerometer for detecting the movement of the head according to this, the movement of the cursor has been done. A photo sensor detects eye blinking. The Infrared transceiver consists of a 935nm IR transmitter and a phototransistor mounted on the same unit. This detects a strong increase in the reflected signal upon intentional long blink as compared to normal eye blink. Hence device should be thought of which would allow easy and smooth control over computer for paralyzed and handicapped people.

MAGLEV CONVEYERS IN POWERPLANT R.SARAVANA GOKUL A.VISHNU sgokul123@gmail.com amvinu18@gmail.com P.A.COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY.
In thermal power plant transportation of coal and ash is conventionally done by conveyers and trucks so conveyers play a major role in transportation of fuels. But in power plant conveying process is slow and tedious one ,this is due to heavy load and slow function speed of conveyers .To overcome this we are introducing a new type of conveyer called maglev conveyer which uses the principle of magnetic levitation by which the load is suspended and propelled through the guideway. By using this the processing time can be reduced and has low running and maintenance cost and so by implementing this type of conveyers in power plant production can be improved along with increase in efficiency of the plant.

MOBILE PHONES CHARGED BY POWER OF SPEECH M.NANDHINI P.RAJALAKSHMI nandhujan95@gmail.com KONGU ENGINEERING COLLEGE,ERODE
Generating electrical energy through your voice and recharging your mobile for saving electricity. As we all know that mobile are now become a part of ones life, 90% of human race on this earth uses mobile today...which requires to be charged by electricity which takes almost 3.7volt x 90% population of world who are using mobile ,volts of electrical energy only for charging mobiles; here in this paper we deal about the mobile phones which converts sound energy into electrical energy at the time of use. So where this electricity comes from? It comes from the power plants ,just imagine if we stop using that ratio of 3.7volt x 90% electricity of power plants for charging our mobiles and just save them for other uses then we save a lot of electrical energy....this can be done simply by charging our mobiles with our own god gifted sweet voice with the help of technology piezo electrical devices fitted at the bottom of every mobiles which converts sound energy to electrical energy....just imagine if one man generated 1volt of electrical energy in some minutes of talk then how much he will generate in 24 hours.....so mobiles will never be out of battery. Using zinc oxide, the main ingredient in calamine lotion, Young Jun Park, Sang-Woo Kim and their colleagues created a field of nano wires sandwiched between two electrodes. The researchers blasted that sandwich with sound waves, which at 100 decibels were not quite as loud as a rock concert. A normal conversation is about 60-70 decibels. Its ecofriendly way
SUPERCAPACITOR/BATTERY HYBRID POWERED ELECTRIC BICYCLE VIA A SMART BOOST CONVERTER V.UDHAYA DHARA, V.SUBHASHINI Udhaya0267@gmail.com ADITHYA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
This work implements a smart boost converter to enable an electric bicycle to be powered by a battery/super capacitor hybrid combination. A 36V, 250W front hub motor was retrofitted onto a normal geared bike powered by a 36V; 12Ah lithium ion phosphate battery pack. A 16.2V, 58F super capacitor module was connected in parallel to the battery pack via a custom made microcontroller-based boost converter which arbitrates power between the battery and super capacitor. The control algorithm for the boost converter was developed using a practical approach by using various sensor inputs (battery/super capacitor current and voltage, bike speed) and comparing the robustness of control scheme. Also energy efficient components were used in designing the boost converter to ensure maximum power transfer efficiency. Based on the implemented system experimental results show an improvement in the up-hill acceleration of the bicycle as a direct result of the boost converter being responsive enough to harvest the extra current from the high power complementary super capacitor module avoiding deep discharges from the battery. This enhanced battery life. The maximum speed remained unchanged while the improvement in range per charge was subjective to the terrain i.e. flat land; not significant improvement, hilly terrain; significant. However, recharging the super capacitor via regenerative braking proved to be an arduous task since the boost converter was not designed to be bi-directional.
SPEED CONTROL OF MOTORBIKE USING PIC MICROCONTROLLER S.STARLIN S.RAJARAJAN mststarlin@gmail.com ADHIYAMAAN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING ,HOSUR
Accidents may occur due to various reasons. One of the main reasons is due to over speeding. This project deals about the controlling of the speed in two wheelers automatically, when entering the speed restricted zones. This is the prototype where the frequency modulation is used to activate the system, during the time of entering. When the vehicle enters the zone, the receiver receives the transmitted frequency signals from the FM transmitter which is installed in that particular area. . In order to have accuracy in measuring the speed of the vehicle, the analog speedometer is removed and replaced by the digital speedometer. The signal is received and this provokes the microcontroller. The speed is compared and if its higher the speed is brought down to t he desired by controlling the spark in the spark plug. If the speed is less or equal to the given speed, the system does not get activated. After the vehicle leaves the speed limited zone the microcontroller bring backs the vehicle to the initial or default position. Therefore the accidents can be reduced to some extend.

We present a space robotic system capable of capturing a free-flying satellite for the purposes of on-orbit satellite servicing. Currently such operations are carried out either manually or through discrete-event scripted controllers. The manual approach is costly and exposes astronauts to danger, while the scripted approach is tedious and brittle. Consequently, there is substantial interest in performing these operations autonomously, and the work presented here is a step in this direction. Our innovative system combines visual perception (object identification, recognition, and tracking) with highlevel reasoning in a hybrid deliberative/reactive computational framework. The reasoning module, which encodes a model of the environment, performs deliberation to control the perception pipeline it guides the vision system, validates its performance, and suggests corrections when vision is performing poorly. Furthermore, it advises the behavioral controller to carry out its tasks.

The bionic eye consists of a contact lens which has been fabricated by the help of MEMS technology. Various sub-systems including biosensors, antennas, radios, light sources, and detectors are integrated in this lens. The lens consists of LEDs which acts like display and glows up in order to form an image in front of cornea. This technique can be employed by pilots and drivers for reading important instruction given to them. This lens also gives an opportunity for virtual gamers to use the real world itself as a backdrop for their adventures. The biosensors integrated on this lens can be used to monitor cholesterol, sodium, diabetic and potassium levels. This is due to the reason that the surface of eye is covered by live cells that are in indirect contact with the blood serum hence we analyze health condition of human being. The power source needed for this contact lens is obtained by the application of nano generator which is most innovative way of power supply used ever. This generators work on the principle of piezoelectric effect. There are three main advantages of this generator they are reduction in cost, less space and it is eco friendly

Cellular networks are a critical component of the economic and social infrastructures in which we live. In addition to voice services, these networks deliver alphanumeric text messages to the vast majority of wireless subscribers. To encourage the expansion of this new service, telecommunications companies offer connections between their networks and the Internet. The ramifications of such connections, however, have not been fully recognised .In this paper, we evaluate the security impact of the SMS interface on the availability of the cell phone network The analysis begins with an exploration of the structure of cellular networks. We then characterize network behaviour and explore a number of reconnaissance techniques aimed at effectively targeting attacks on these systems. This paper describes in detail about the vulnerabilities due to DoS (Denial Of Services) attacks. The major problem seen in this method is overflow of the buffer. To overcome the above problem, we have proposed a new idea of Weighted Fair Queueing. We conclude by discussing countermeasure that mitigate or eliminate the threats introduced by these attacks.
