How did James Holmes, an aspiring neuroscience scientist, fall through the cracks to become accused of one the worst mass shootings in U.S. history? I see a young man suffering so greatly from mental illness he was lost in a world he had no control over. He reached out for help to end his madness. He voiced his fantasies of killing people. No one listened. No one cared. No one tried to stop him.

James had his bachelors degree in neuroscience. He was brilliant. He had goals. He was in graduate school to obtain his Phd. He wanted to help people. The Holmie community is a group of compassionate people who want to help save a mentally ill young man from the death penalty. I'd like to pay my respects to Mr. & Mrs. Holmes. They are victims of this tragedy as well and my heart goes out to them. James is their child and they have shown unconditional love for him. It takes a lot courage to go to his hearings and show the world they care. They have lost their son too. I hope they know they have love and support from around the world.
