What we will be learning

Our first unit is called Incredible Me: How I Express Myself and Interact with Others. For the next nine weeks, we will be exploring the following concepts: My friends and I are individuals and part of a group. We use our senses to explore the world around us. Social Studies: Identify connections between who they are as a person and their place in the world. Distinguish themselves as individuals from others. Recognize that individual people are part of a group. Science: Gather information about objects through the use of one or more of the senses, such as sight, smell, touch and taste. Describe objects accurately by drawing pictures.

Behavior Expectations:
At QISS we respect and care for each other every day. Bullying, name calling and fighting is not accepted. A mindful heart where we show sensitivity, compassion, intelligence, communication and courage to do the right thing in and outside of the classroom is our goal and mission.

*Curriculum guides will be distributed on Open House night (August 28) *This first week will be devoted to introducing and practicing routines and procedures that we will be using throughout the year.

Class Project:
Along with this newsletter, I will send home instructions for a project that I would like for each student to complete at home. This project is to be brought back by Friday, August 16, when each student will have the opportunity to present their projects to me and to the class. I am looking forward to learning more about each of your precious children!
