Content standard 1.2 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to listen and respond appropriately in formal and informal situations for a variety of purposes.

3.2 By the end of the 6 year primary schooling, pupils will be able to write using appropriate language, form and style for a range of purposes.

3.2.2 Able to write with guidance (a) simple sentences

Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: a. Build sentences by using correct preposition based on the pictures. b. Listen to the instructions from their friends and place the teddy bear in correct position.

Previous knowledge: Pupils know how to pronounce in, on and under. Pupils know how to sing the song Bingo. Teaching aids: Dialogue (Appendix A), Reading Chart (Appendix B), teddy bear (Appendix C), sentence strips (Appendix D), Bingo

cards (Appendix E), the song - The Spider adapted from Bingo (Appendix F), and task sheet 1.
Moral value(s): Place things in correct location. Educational emphases: 1. Multiple Intelligence: Visual intelligence is nurtured when pictures are used to teach pupils preposition. Kinaesthetic intelligence is also developed when pupils learn to put the teddy bear in correct location. 2. Contextual learning: The activity with teddy bear relates learning to daily life as the pupils need not only to place objects according to the instruction, but also learn to tell the location of the object correctly.

Stage Set Induction (3 mins)

Pre-listening (6 mins)

Reading Chart.

1. Teacher introduces prepositions. 2. Teacher shows reading chart in. on and under. 3. Pupils read the text after teacher. 4. Teacher shows some animated pictures. For example, a picture of a cat in a hat. Teacher will ask: Where is the cat? Pupils answer: The cat is in the hat.

To introduce meaningful and purposeful knowledge.

While-listening (12 mins)

1. Teacher gives instructions on the activity. 2. Pupils will take turn to read the sentence strips individually to the whole class. 3. Teacher picks Pupil A to read the sentence strip. 4. Pupil A randomly chooses another pupil to place the teddy bear according to the sentence strip read. 7. This takes turn until the 20th pupil.

Bingo activity

1. Divide the class into Groups. 2. Give two bingo cards to each group. 3. Blow the whistle, the pupils will write sentences on Bingo Card 2

To apply the prepositions that they have learned.

based on the pictures on Card 1. 4. The group that finishes first will shout Bingo. 5. Check the sentences and reward the group with correct sentences.

1. Teacher shares moral values on the importance of placing things in place. 2. Pupils enjoy the Spider Song and at the same time revise the preposition by answering the question Where is the spider? in the song.
