Mobile Challenges in Healthcare Enterprises

Date: September 23rd, 2013 Time: 2:00 PM ET / 11:00 AM PT / 18:00 GMT (Duration: 1 hour) REGISTER NOW Healthcare IT organizations are challenged by two competing market forces - the consumerization of devices and the increase in regulatory enforcement. At a time when iPads, iPhones, and Android devices are becoming the client devices of choice, the new HIPAA omnibus rule imposes $1.5 million dollar per incident fines for security breaches. CIOs are trying to balance the productivity and usability enhancements of mobile apps with the increased need for controls to address compliance concerns. At the same time, the medical record has become the most valuable commodity on hacker price lists. In this discussion, the speaker will describe the scope of mobile device challenges in healthcare, then offer his experience creating work streams to mitigate risk in the short, medium and long term.
