During the ensuing Ganpati Festival Traffic Police have to make elaborate arrangements to maintain the law and order and to regulate vehicular traffic and pedestrian traffic. In view of this Traffic Police Control Rooms are being set up at Five places viz. Girgaon Chowpatty, Shivaji Park Chowpatty, Bada Masjid Bandra, Juhu Chowpatty and Powai (Ganesh Ghat) and watch towers are being erected at 37 places for regulating the traffic as well as processions carrying the Ganpati idols. Various voluntary organizations such as Civil Defence, Aniruddhas Academy of Disaster Management, Home Guards, Traffic Wardens, R.S.P. Teachers, Water Safety Patrol, N.C.C. Cadets, N.S.S. students from various colleges are participating with Traffic Police in controlling the Pedestrian / vehicular traffic and Ganpati processions. Certain Traffic restrictions have been imposed in Mumbai on Tuesday ( 10th September,) Friday ( 13rd September, ) Sunday ( 15th September, ) and on Wednesday ( 18th September,) 2013, from 12.00 hrs., till 06.00 hrs. The restrictions which are imposed on these days, are as under : (1) CLOSURE OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC (2) ONE WAY VEHICULAR MOVEMENT (3) BAN ON HEAVY VEHICLES MOVEMENT (4) PARKING RESTRICTONS 50 56 13 94

Annexure has been enclosed with this Press note giving details of these restrictions on various roads. In addition to this cranes would be stationed at various places (Police Cranes, B.M.C. Cranes and high capacity cranes from private organizations) Steel Plates will be provided on the beaches to prevent trucks and other vehicles from getting bogged down in the sand on various beaches. Drums will be placed on various roads for segregating the processions and the returning crowd. First Aid Centre will be set up with the assistance of the St. Johns Ambulance Brigade, Saifee Ambulance, Muslim Ambulance and Parsi Ambulance Brigade. The above arrangements are made for the safety of the citizens. Volunteers of NGOs would be assisting the Traffic Police. Mumbaikars are requested to obey the directions and to cooperate. COLABA TRAFFIC DIVISION 1. Nathalal Parekh Marg, Colaba : From its Jn. with Capt. Prakash Pethe Marg will be closed for South bound vehicular traffic and existing one way between Pandey Marg and Colaba Post Office will be both ways. 2. Moses Road to its Jn. with Mahalaxmi Railway Station via Keshavrao Khadey Marg to its Jn with Haji Ali. 29. N. M. Joshi Marg : a)When Lalbaug raja ganapati prossecion will be pass on Bharatmata Jn. then Traffic will be pass shingate master chawk up to Arthar road naka towards Chinchpokali.b) when Lalbaug raja prossecion will be pass on Gas company Jn.then Traffic will be closed at Shingate master chawk up to Arther road naka and traffic will be open towards Bharatmata Jn. EASTERN SUBERB MAHIM TRAFFIC DIVISION 30. Veer Savarkar Marg (Cadel Road) : From its Jn. with L.J. Road ( Mahim Jn.) to its Jn.with S.K.Bole Marg (Siddhi Vinayak Jn.) will be closed for South bound vehicular traffic including BEST buses. North bound traffic will proceed from South bound carriageway. 31. Takandas Kataria Road (Lady Hardinge Road) : Will be closed for West bound vehicular traffic including BEST buses between L. J. Road and Veer Savarkar Marg ( Cadel Road ). The existing one way will be reversed in West to East Direction.

32. Bal Govind Das Road : Will be One way from its Jn. with J.K.Sawant Marg to its Jn. with L. J .Road. 33. J. K. Sawant Marg : From its Jn. with N.C. Kelkar Marg to its Jn. with Bal Govind Das Marg will be closed for South bound traffic. 34. S. K. Bole Marg : Shall be One way from Hanuman Temple to Portuguese Church for South bound vehicular traffic i.e. "No Entry" from Portuguese Church to Hanuman Temple. MATUNGA TRAFFIC DIVISION 35. Tilak Road : From Dadar T.T. to its Jn. with Katrak Road shall be one way for East bound vehicular traffic. 36. Katrak Road : From its Jn. with Don Bosco Chowk to its Jn. with Marathi Granth Sangralaya Marg ( Naigaon Cross Road ) will be closed for North bound vehicular traffic. 37. Mankikar Marg : From its Jn. with Duncan Causeway up to Chuna Bhatti railway crossing will be one way Northwards i.e. "No Entry" from Chuna Bhatti railway Station. 38. Dr. B. A. Road : From Maheshwari Udyan (King Circle) to its Jn. with Supari Baug will be closed for South bound vehicular traffic (South bound carriage way will be used for North bound vehicular traffic, since the North bound carriage way will be reserved for Ganpati procession only).

WESTERN SUBERB
SAKINAKA TRAFFIC DIVISION 39. Aadi Shankeracharya Marg : East bound traffic from its Jn. with Saki Vihar Road to its Jn. with Jal Vayu Vihar up to its Jn. with Arcade Avenue will be one way for vehicular traffic. East carriageway of Arcade Avenue Road to its Jn. of Hiranandani Garden will be closed for vehicular traffic. West carriageway will be used for vehicular traffic. BANDRA TRAFFIC DIVISION 40. Juhu Road : Juhu road from its junction with S.V.Road up to Koliwada Jn. Shall be One Way for south bound vehicular traffic 41. Juhu Tara Road : Juhu tara Road from its juncation with Koliwada up to Tulip Star Jn. shall be One way for south bound vehicular traffic. D. N. NAGAR TRAFFIC DIVISION 42. Vaikuntlal Mehta Road ; Vile Parle (W): Entry of all type of vehicles on V.M.Road West Bond from S.V.Road & V.M.Road junction to V.M.Road & Juhu Tara Road junction (Tulip star junction) on V.M.Road i.e. from East to West shall be prohibited. 43. Indravadan Oza Road : No Entry to all type of vehicles Except BEST Buses on Indravadan Oza Road from its junction with Guru Nanak Road up to Gulmohar Road (West to East) shall be prohibited. 44. Irala Society Marg : Irla Society Marg will be One way from S.V.Road to Gulmohar Road junction. 45. Gulmohar Road : No Entry to all type of vehicles on Gulmohar Road its junction with V. M. Road up to Indravadan Oza Road ( South to North) shall be prohibited. 46. C. D. Barfiwala Road : Barfiwala Road will be One way from Gulmohar Road junction to S.V.Road for all type of vehicles (wherever required ) 47. Jai Prakash Road : A) J. P. Road from its junction of Ceaser Road up to Indian Oil jn will remain open for vehicular traffic in both direction. B) J. P. Road west bound will remain open for vehicular traffic from its Junction of Indian Oil Junction to Sagar Kutir. Thereafter the vehicular traffic will take east bound road to go to Versova Jetty up to Ganga Bhuvan.

Returning crowd and vehicle7s from Versova Jetty will take, west bound J.P.Road up to J.P.Road & Yari Road (Ganga Bhavan) junction. Simillarly it will take left turn at this junction to right on Panch Marg, then right turn on Fishreis Univercity Road, upto Vateshwar Mandir on J. P. Road. Thereafter they will take west bound J. P. Road up to Nana Nani park eastern road, then left turn on Lowprice Lane, upto Bon Bon lane. Returning crowed & vehicles going towards Jogeshwari will take left on Bon Bon lane & right to go to Vileparle & Santacruz. C) Entry to Ganpati processions on J. P. Road West bound, from Indian Oil junction to Vateshwar Mandir i.e. from East to West shall be prohibited. Ganpati processions on J.P.Road west bound are diverted from J.P.Road to Link Road (Indian Oil) junction towards Versova Link Road, then right turn on P.K.Sawant Road upto Nana Nani Park then right turn on Nana Nani park western road, then left turn on J.P.Road to go to Sagar Kutir. D) Entry to Ganpati processions on J. P. Road west bound from Char Banglow junction to Vateshwar Mandir, i.e. from East to West shall be prohibited. Ganpati processions on J. P. Road West bound are diverted from J.P.Road Char Banglow junction left turn on Char Banglow Market road, then right turn on P.K.Sawant road, upto Nana Nani Park then right turn on Nana Nani park western road, then left turn on J. P. Road. 48. P. K. Sawant Road : The East Bond of P.K.Sawant Road Will remain open for both way vehicular traffic, i.e. from East to West & West to East from its Junction with Link road and Arban Tadka hotel Junction. 49. Juhu Tara Road : Shall be one way for North bound vehicular traffic from its Jn. with Juhu Road upto its Jn. with A.B. Nair Road i.e. "No Entry" from A.B. Nair Road. 50. Yari Road :- A) The north bound carriageway of the Yari Road from its junction with the lane leading to the beach near Sagar Kutir upto Yari Road signal will be reserved for the devotees and for the vehicles carrying idols. B) No Entry for all vehicles on north bound carriageway of the Yari Road from the lane leading to the beach near Sagar Kutir upto Yari Road signal. 51. Ceaser Road (Andheri-West) : From its Jn. with Jai Prakash Road to its Jn. with S.V.Road shall be closed for West bound vehicular traffic i.e. "Entry" only from Jai Prakash Road. 52. Versova Road : Will be One way from B.M.C. Garden to Yari Road. KANDIVALI TRAFFIC DIVISION 53. From its Jn. with Thakur House to its Jn.with Ashok Chakravarti road, Kandivali (East). 54. From its Jn. with New link road Mahaveer Nagar up to Immerssion Point, Kandivali (West). 55. From its Jn. with Poiser to Kalpana chawala chauk to Sameer chandavarkar road up to Immerssion Point, Kandivali (West). BORIVALI TRAFFIC DIVISION 56. Lokmanya Tilak Marg : Will be closed for East bound vehicular traffic i.e. "No Entry" from Link Road Jn. to Babhai Naka. East bound vehicular traffic is diverted from Link Road Jn via Yogi Nagar, Eksar Road.
