IESE Cost Time Benefits Report Guidance Note June 2009 Notes Cost Time Report Date and

d RIBA stage of each gateway should be completed The benchmarking data below the whole project cost data is self generating and used for IESE benchmarking purposes only. Provisional sums should be allocated to elements above if possible. If this is not possible the provisional sums should be allocated to contingency. The demolition element in the abnormals is for the demolition of whole buildings or large sections/elements. All other works will be dealt with as alterations and not treated as an abnormal. Summary of period scope changes should identify client project scope changes between the current and previous gateway. The changes should be reported as additions and omission to the project value/period (ie a saving should be recorded as a minus nr). The contractor is to confirm that the date provided for each gateway is the cost base date and if not provide the correct base date. Benefits Report To be read in conjunction with the process chart. There is an expectation that Contractors Framework Managers will critique all CTB sheets before Gateway reviews and ensure benefits are correctly and fully reported. Benefits are to be reported cumulative at each gateway (ie all benefits through out the project should be reported at each gateway) resulting in Gateway 4 (Final Account / Completion KPI Review) column being the final total benefits for the project. The cumulative benefits report will record the progress of a benefit through the project to monitor if the value is realised (ie a VE suggestion may be taken at Gateway 2 but added back in at Gateway 3 resulting the value being zero). The benefits should be reported as additions and omission to the project value/period (ie a saving should be recorded as a minus nr). Best Practice represents benefits the contractors would bring to a project fully complying with industry standards. Added Value represents additional benefits that the contractors have directly brought to the project as a result of the collaborative two stage IESE process this is the opportunity for the contractor and project team to identify the benefits of the collaborative IESE process. Examples are provided on the template.
