INTRODUCTION
This machine has been made to function between 5C and 45C. The Central Control Unit (UC 112) must be placed in a ventilated environment, more than 20cm (8 inches) off the floor. The Control Unit must be placed on its base or fixed in a way so that the side on which the radiator is situated is placed horizontally and is facing upwards. Never disconnect a cord while the UC power is on. It is necessary to install a 6mm diameter air outlet for the pneumatic cooling of the stylus. The compressed air should be installed by professionally qualified technicians. The ground connection should conform to current regulations to ensure the safety of the personnel. This marking equipment has not been designed to operate in an explosive environment. During the marking operation the operator should avoid putting fingers or any objects in the opening reserved for the movement of the stylus. Hands should be kept away from the machine.
TECHNIFOR is not responsible for injuries that result from disregard of the above rules of operation or other general safety rules applicable to the use of this equipment. Furthermore, disregarding these rules will result in the cancellation of the guarantee.
THIS EQUIPMENT CONFORMS TO ALL SAFETY REGULATIONS IN FORCE AT THE DATE OF MANUFACTURE
When the UC112 is turned on, it will display the type of head that is connected. If this does not happen, please contact you distributor before proceeding.

1.6) Updates
The A0 updating index corresponds to the first edition of this manual. The alphabetical character (A) represents the major index; the number figure (0) represents the minor index. The minor index will change after each isolated updating (modification of only some of the manuals pages). Only the modified pages will bear the new updated index. The major index will change after a complete updating of the manual, resulting in a new edition. The minor index will then return to zero. The chart below will permit you to keep track of the history of the updates since the first edition. It is strongly recommended that this be kept up to date by replacing the modified pages in your manual as they are sent to you.

4.1) Installation
4.1.1. Attachments
The CN312Dm or CN312Sm integratable marking head should be attached to the support that is intended for using 2 M8 screws. The attachment holes are open, the tightening torque should be 8,5 Nm maximum. The screws should not penetrate more than 15 mm in the thickness of the casing.
Z Axis
Y Axis
The marking head should be assembled parallel to the surface to be marked to ensure uniform marking on all of the working surface. 2 8E7 holes for 8 pins (-0.47 or -0.06 and center distance 0.02) or locating holes have been provided for on the X axis. The perpendicular tolerance between the mounting face and the work surface on the Y axis should be 0.05 mm. It is recommended that a height adjustment option be provided for the head, at least 5 mm, to render the vertical adjustment of the stylus as well as its dismantling easier. It is possible for TECHNIFOR to provide you with a dovetail height adjustment system to obtain this result.

The maintenance operations which follow are listed by their recommended frequency. It is advised that this maintenance schedule be adhered to from the delivery of your equipment onwards. The frequency of maintenance should be increased in harsher environments.
After each of these operations has been performed once or twice, the maintenance frequency required for your equipment will become apparent to your maintenance personnel.
Turn the power off before any servicing or maintenance operation. Do not oil any elements of the sytlus or the marking head. Never use a tool to tighten the stylus. Air pressure should be 4 bars maximum. The air should be clean and dry.

Verify the state of the stylus and proceed to clean it (see electromagnetic stylus manual)
The greater the radius of the point, the higher the risk that the small characters will be illegible, especially on soft materials.
technifor
DCD01/3044-(MTEC4324/0312A0-chapter05US.fm)
This list has been drawn up for a marking frequency of: 520 000 cycles per year (7 800 000characters per year), 15 characters, 3 mm high per cycle, 8 hours of continuous work on 50daN/mm steel.
During the revision interval of your marking head it is possible to rent identical equipment so as not to interrupt your production.
THE NON-RESPECT OF THE RECOMMENDATIONS LISTED BELOW WILL CANCEL THE GUARANTEE
Never oil the X-Y guide rails. Make sure that they are clean. Regularly clean both the stylus and the point. The stylus point should be correctly sharpened. Install the Control Unit in a horizontal position 20 cm above the ground in a clean and well ventilated spot. The Control Unit should be supplied with constant current.
