HOURS 3.0 PRE-REQUISITES COURSE NAME WEB DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT COURSE HOURS 60 DATE DECEMBER 2012 AIM
This course provides students with the necessary skills to develop websites using processes and technologies learnt in this course. It will also provide the requisite foundation for students pursuing a career path of a Web professional. Topics include; hypertext markup language, cascading style sheets, JavaScript, website publishing, and website maintenance.
RATIONALE / RELEVANCE
The Web has become a very important part of our daily activities from shopping to finding out how many centimeters are in an inch. Now more than ever before many businesses are creating a web presence due to the lowered costs as well as ease with which they can access the global market. Not only are people accessing the web via their desktops and laptops but also via their smart phones and other web-enabled devices. Taking into account the new trends and developments taking place on the web, students pursuing careers in web design will need to understand the fundamental skills to capitalize on this growing industry.
METHODS OF DELIVERY
The main methods of delivery will include: Lectures, note taking and classroom discussions PowerPoint slides and multi-media projector, internet and other library resources
