Olorunnisola Date: January 16, 2011 Rejecting the Call to Salvation The Greatest Tragedy to Human Race The dreadful great day of the Lord is at the door, when the eternal Truth shall be revealed. The entire heaven and earth shall be shaken. The planetary system shall be dissolved. The stars shall all drop from their anchorage, the sun shall be turned to utter darkness and the moon into blood, the motion of the satellites shall be neutralized and the entire Celestial movement thrown out of order. The flood of Noah had come only as a warning, the current world and all things in them will melt off and will be reduced into ashes under intense fire. The world will be purified with fire. There will be serious lamentation, eternal regret and gnashing of teeth for all those who reject the Truth. Where do you expect to find yourself? The Ethiopian Eunuch of great authority under Candace, the Queen of Ethiopia heard Philip preached the gospel to Him. He believed instantly, accepted Christ as His Lord and Savior and requested for instant baptism to seal his salvation. Acts 8: 26-39. Ananias, Tetullus and other conspirators against Paul rejected the Message of Redemption while Felix, the governor of Caesarea procrastinated over the message of salvation saying unto Paul "Go away for now, when I have a convenient time I will call for you." Acts 24:22-25. Regrettably Felix had no opportunity again. Four main categories of people are evident from the above scenario. The first of these are the like of the Ethiopian Eunuch, who, on their encounter with the truth, totally surrendered their lives to the truth, embracing the truth, and having their anchorage effectively fastened on the truth. Their faith in Christ and worship of God can never be affected by the storm, hurricane or any vicissitude of life. They are the children of Light, the citizens of the Kingdom of God, whose good works and lives of mercy, love, and humility will be extolled, and given public praise and approval by the perspicacious and infallible Judge. They will join the glorified elects and the multitude of angels forming a resplendent court around His Throne, such as no mind had ever portrayed. These, are those who have continued to uphold their faith unshakeable even in trials. They are sealed for the glorious Kingdom of Heaven where they shall forever live in peace and joy. The second category are those who received the message of Salvation with joy but after waiting for a while without receiving their worldly expectation; but were instead, battered by storm of trials and temptations, withdrew back into their worldly companies and lifestyles. These could be likened to the five foolish virgins who had no oil to lighten their lamps when the bridegroom arrived and were consequently, shut out of the Kingdom to ravage in everlasting regret and lamentation. Many believers continue to be lured away from worshipping God devotedly by ungodly friends, associations, works, and vanities of this world. If you are in this class remember that this world is only a pilgrimage. Unless you return to Christ and submit your focus absolutely unto things that are heavenly, you may not experience true and lasting human joy in this world and in the world to come.

The third class are the Tirtullus and Ananias who reject the Truth outright, despise the name and the Salvation in Christ. The name of Jesus is abhorred and the gospel message remains an irritation to them. On that day, they will be terror-stricken, trembling with unspeakable horror, with legs, hands and teeth grievously clashing out of joint. These are the wicked ones, the unbelievers, workers of darkness, thieves, adulterous, murderers, homosexuals, idolaters and workers of unrighteousness. These have chosen damnation and shall be hurled on the Lord's day into everlasting lake of fire where they will be tortured day and night forever and ever. Many of these are found in churches but Christ is not found in them or their deeds. The good news is that if you are in this group, you can still repent, and return to Christ. His gracious hands are now stretched unto you. Return and be saved. The final group are those who procrastinate like Felix, the Governor of Caesarea, postponing their day of acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ into their lives. Most of these are held hostage by Satan and are never allowed to have a second chance before they die, thereby also ending up in eternal hell fire. Today is the day, Tomorrow may be too late. "Behold now is the accepted time, behold now is the day of Salvation" 2 Cor. 6: 2b Living in the conviction of Heavenly endless glories and joy is the only mark and evidence of true wisdom; to live otherwise bring human beings basically to the same level with beast of the forest. "19 Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits their mortal bodies: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath[c]; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. 20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return." (Eccl. 3:19-20) We are made to understand by Genesis 2:7 that God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life: So man remains a living being only for as long as that breath lasts. Like ordinary vapor or gas in a car, once it runs out, then there is death. Man is therefore existing in this world on a small measure of infusion of breath, meant only to last a trial period. Job 14:1-5 "He comes forth like a flower and fades away. He flees like a shadow and does not continue" The short trial period (the time you spend in this world) is to allow you to make a personal choice of where you intend to stay forever when you die in this world and resurrect to acquire the real endless life. But is it endless life in Heaven or Hell? Don't play with your eternity. This temporal world and all things in it are worthless. Our eternal destination will be settled irrevocably at death, and the particular judgment that follows will finally pronounce our sentence regarding the place where each person will spend his/her eternity: whether in the glories and beauties of heaven or in the lake of unquenchable everlasting fire. Compared with the Dreadful Day of Judgment and Divine pronouncement of human destinies, this worldly political struggle for presidency, senate, governorship...etc would become nothing more than noisy clangor, bloody wars and revolutions bringing down great countries, and empires would seem only like theatre show, while the great works of man such as aircrafts, spaceships, ships, computers, arsenals of war and all scientific breakthroughs would appear like a mere wisp of smoke or an ordinary spider's web. Man will on that day of Judgment discover to his utter regret and lamentation that all his ambition, struggle and achievement while passing though the world were no more than a senseless self dissipation or delusion of a psychiatric patient. Ambition of wealth, power and fame would be seen as completely useless to inherit God's Kingdom. On that day there will be no difference between the wise and the foolish, intellect and folly, the rich and the poor, the powerful and the puppet. The only thing that would count on that day is your acceptance of Christ as your Lord & Savior, your worship of God, your obedience to His commands, and love to others while passing through this temporal-vain world. The greatest tragedy, therefore, is to reject Jesus, live a godless life and end up in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone forever and ever. The choice is still yours!!!
