1 Number Analysis Principle

1.1 Number Analysis Principle
The switch performs the network addressing according to various numbers. In the mobile switch, the number is categorized into two types: 1. 2. Subscriber number Network number

The subscriber number includes the fixed subscriber number and the mobile subscriber number. The network number includes the roaming number (MSRN), MSC/VLR number, HLR number, handover number, and so on. The number analysis configuration of ZXWN MSCS is used to confirm the network addressing and the service processing method corresponding to each number, and ensure that the switch can perform the signaling alternation and speech path connection correctly.

1.1.1 Type of Number Analyzer

ZXWN MSCS system provides server kinds of number analyzers: New service (additional service) number analyzer CENTREX number analyzer Number analyzer of private network Number analyzer of special service Number analyzer of local network Number analyzer of domestic toll call Number analyzer of international toll call

One number analysis selector consists of many analyzers. For one specified number analysis selector, it will analyze the number through the analysis selectors from the top down during the number analysis. Each number analyzer performs the number analysis strictly according to the order till the analysis result is found. The analysis order of the

number analyzer is shown in Fig 1.1 -1.

Fig 1.1-1 Analysis Order of Number Analyzer

The difference of these analyzers is as follows: for the new service analyzer, CEXTREX service analyzer, the private network service analyzer and the special service analyzer, if the number is not matched in its own analyzer, transfer the number to the next analyzer and then analyze it. For the local network service analyzer and the domestic toll analyzer, the whole number analysis flow is completed if it is not required to perform the follow-up analysis. The order of the number analysis is very important. When analyzing a specified number, it is required to coordinate the number analysis of the former and the later analyzer. For example, if the former analyzer has analyzed and deleted the toll prefix, the later analyzer does not need to analyze the toll prefix again. For any number, it is processed according to the special order. The understanding to the number analysis order helps to conFig the number analysis correctly. In the number analysis, the form of the analyzed numbers is as follows: the mobile subscriber number, the mobile station roaming number, the local fixed telephone number, the toll fixed subscriber number, and the special service number. The number analysis is a very complicated configuration. The most important difficulty is how to select the analyzer, the selector and the analyzed number.

Chapter 1 Number Analysis Principle

1.1.2 Normal Number Analysis Selector

There are many kinds of number analysis selectors. In general, it is required to conFig three kinds of number analysis selectors at least according to the opening service types. The common three kinds of number analysis selectors are: MS-originated selector, roaming number analysis selector and preferred routing selector. MS-originated selector: it describes how the switch confirms the call type and handles the call when it receives a call originated by a mobile phone. If the called party is a mobile subscriber, MSC needs to query the routing information from the corresponding HLR; otherwise, MSC will connect the call to the corresponding the local exchange or toll exchange according to location of the called party. Roaming number analysis selector: it describes how the switch processes the roaming number after it receives the roaming number. In fact, this selector should be called as the incoming number analysis selector. Besides analyzing the roaming number returned from HLR, this selector also analyzes the forwarding number returned from HLR, and the subscriber number from other mobile office or fixed office. If this is the local service, the service will be sent to the corresponding processing module; if this is the outgoing service, the system will select the corresponding routing link according to the conditions and then perform the call connection. Preferred routing selector: when the call is forwarded, the switch will perform the analysis according to the number corresponding to the selector and then select the preferred routing according to this configuration. When setting the preferred routing supported by the local office in the global variable control, it is required to conFig this selector used for the international roaming call and the forwarding service. Calling analysis selector: it is conFigd only when the switch supports the special Overlay Camel service. Analyze the outgoing calling number in order to implement the calling distribution and calling transfer function. Interception analysis selector: it is used for the interception service. IP service selector: It is used for IP service. CRBT analysis selector: it is used for CRBT service. In general, the trunk selector and the roaming number analysis selector could be

shared.

1.1.3 Calling Number Distribution Service

During the call processing, this function selects different routes and then processes different calls according to different calling numbers. In order to implement this function, it is required to confirm the analysis selector (half-call distribution selector) of the called number according to the calling number and the certain proportion. Half-call distribution selector: in the calling distribution service, the calling process analyzes the calling number to obtain Analyze called number required Selector. Calling distribution selector: in the calling distribution service, the calling process analyzes the calling number to obtain Half-call distribution selector. Active distribution item: this item includes an active half-call distribution selector. This proportion of this item is set in the number analysis interface of the Call Distribution service. If the proportion of this item is within the active distribution proportion set in the interface, it is valid. If the included selector is 0, the distribution item is invalid. Backup distribution item: this item includes a backup half-call distribution selector. This proportion of this item is set in the number analysis interface of the Call Distribution service. Comparing with the active distribution item, this proportion is valid if it is not in the active distribution proportion. If the included selector is 0, the call process replaces the related selector with the system default value. The active distribution proportion: it is set in the number analysis interface of the Call distribution service. It indicates the proportion of the active distribution item and the backup distribution item during the database analyzes the calling number distribution. The range is within 1~10(identification 10%~100%).

1.1.4 Common Types of Call Services

The description of the common call services: MSC common service: If the service belongs to this type, the system will send the request to query the routing from HLR.
4

Chapter 1 Number Analysis Principle

MSC local-current office service: if the analyzed number is the local roaming number, it belongs to this service.

MSC domestic toll service: if the analyzed number is not the local roaming number, it belongs to this service.

Toll in Macro Cell (Between Macro Cell) auto-service: If the traffic route is pointed to the tandem office or the fixed toll office, it belongs to this service.

Outgoing/Local Service of The Local Network: the local fixed telephone number belongs to this service.

Outgoing Free Special Service: 110, 119, 120 and 122 belong to this service. Outgoing Paid Special Service: 114 and 129 belong to this service. Additional Service: it can be used to play tone to the subscriber. For example, if the subscriber dials *, it will broadcast The IP dialing mode is changed. If the local subscriber dials 0139. . . it will broadcast The dialing mode is wrong

Special Service of Mobile Emergency: this service points to a mobile special service group. The number of the mobile special service group indexes a special service number together with the location area or the cell ID. When the subscriber dials 110, the call will be connected to the number 07155224110 if the cell IDs are 71D1 and 35EB.

1.1.5 Command Analyzed Number

The common analyzed number includes: mobile subscriber number, mobile station roaming number, local fixed subscriber number, toll fixed subscriber number, special service number. The following analyzes these numbers separately. 1. Mobile subscriber number The mobile subscriber number helps MSC find the routing information from HLR. This number is affiliated to the number analysis entry of MS originating selector. Under this condition, the local analysis entry needs to conFig all the network destination codes which are allowed to be accessed by the local exchange. For example, for China Mobile, you can conFig 134~139 simply. For China Unicom, you can conFig 130~133. For the call type, select MSC common
5

TN_SA001_E1_0 Digital Number Analysis

service. ConFig the minimum length and the maximum length according to the current number length. According to the number analysis, MSC will send the numbers beginning with these prefixes to SCCP signaling processing module, and then transfer it to HLR. In the GT number configuration, it is required to conFig the corresponding GT number according to the real condition. 2. Mobile station roaming number The roaming number of the mobile subscriber is a temporary number allocated by the MSC of roaming area. The roaming number is affiliated to the number analysis entry of Roaming selector. When the subscriber is the called party, the originating office will connect the speech path to the office of the called party according to the roaming number. During the roaming number configuration, it is required to separate the local roaming number and non-local roaming number. For example, if the local MSC number is 13900888, select MSC Local-Current Office Service from the call type. The index of the office number is 0. In addition, it is also required to conFig the simplest roaming number prefix that does not belong to the local office, such as the number beginning with 139001~139007 and 139009. According to the real conditions, conFig the call type as MSC domestic toll service, MSC local outgoing service or MSC international toll service and select the corresponding outgoing route link at the same time. For the call reset mode, select non-compelled reset. 3. Local fixed subscriber number The fixed subscriber number is also affiliated to the local number analysis entry of MS-originating selector. For the local fixed subscriber number and the toll fixed subscriber number, you can analyze them as the Toll prefix + area code + other number format according to the analysis of the toll analyzer. If the local exchange is separated from the toll exchange, it is required to select different routing links. It is also required to select Local outgoing common service, domestic toll service, or international toll service according to the real call type. For call reset mode, select non-compelled reset. 4. Toll fixed subscriber number A clear difference between the special number configuration and the fixed telephone number analysis is to change the ID of the outgoing routing link to the
6

Chapter 1 Number Analysis Principle

ID of the subscriber circuit group. When the call service type is the special service of the mobile emergency, it is required to input the ID of the subscriber circuit group. The special service group can be set in the location area identity (LAI).

1.1.6 Concept of Common Number

During one basic call, the following numbers are involved: Calling number: the number of the subscriber originating the call. It is also called as A number. Called number: the dialed number. It is also called as B number. Forwarding number: it indicates the number of the forwarding destination if the called subscriber registered the forwarding service. It is also called as C number. Redirection number: the number of the called subscriber will be changed to the redirection number if the called subscriber registered the forwarding service. Original called number: if the call performs one or more forwarding, the first called number is called as the original called number. For example: A dials B and then forwards to C: A is the calling number, B is the original called number (redirection number), and C is the called number. A dials B and then forwards to C, and then C forwards to D: A is the calling number, B is the called number, C is the redirection number and D is the called number.

1.2 Analysis Principle of Mobile Number

1.2.1 Description
The mobile number analysis includes the calling IMSI rate analysis, called IMSI rate analysis, called number rate analysis, IMSI number analysis, local number analysis, number roaming analysis, and OVERLAY special prefix analysis. The following takes the calling IMSI rate analysis, number roaming analysis, IMSI number analysis and the local number analysis as an example to describes the mobile number analysis. When the mobile subscriber is the calling party, it is required to analyze Calling
7

TN_SA001_E1_0 Digital Number Analysis

IMSI analysis and Called number rate analysis at the same time. The real result is the sum of these two analysis result. When the mobile subscriber is the called party, it is only required to analyze Called IMSI analysis. Set this analysis result as the real result. The purpose of the rate analysis is to analyze the index of the corresponding rate e1~e7 according to IMSI number, MSISDN number and the area code in order to meet the requirement of AOC. The value of e1~e7 should be accurate to 0.1. Note: In general, the value of the database is e1~e7 *10. When the subscriber input the value, it is required to input e1~e7 *10. For example, if e1=0.4, the subscriber should input 4 (e1*10).

1.2.2 IMSI Number Analysis

During the location update request, VLR will address HLR according to IMSI. Through configuring IMSI, the number can be transferred to HLRnumber. During the location update, VLR performs the addressing operation with HLRnumber. IMSI number analysis is mainly used to set the number format of SCCP routing option in the No.7 signaling. That is to say, conFig the E214 number format of the IMSI. After transferring the number through SCCP, the number will be used to find the corresponding HLR. For networking flexible, two conversion methods are provided: ISDN format and HLRGT format. 1. ISDN analysis mode For ISDN analysis mode, transfer the corresponding number prefix in IMSI to a specified analysis result, and then add the redundant numbers to the behind of the analysis result. The typical instance is that: transfer mobile country code (MCC) + mobile network code (MNC) to country code (CC) +network destination code (NDC), and reserve the redundant part. This forms the E214 number format. The ISDN analysis mode is mainly used for the mobile network configuration adopting GT routing. If the following analysis and configuration exist:
8

Chapter 1 Number Analysis Principle

IMSI Number Analysis Result 46000 86139

Analysis Result Index ISDN

The IMSI number accessed by the network is 460001234567890, the corresponding country code is 86, and the network destination code is 139, the analysis result will be 861391234567890 after the number is analyzed through ISDN analysis mode. 2. HLRGT analysis mode For HLRGT analysis mode, transfer the corresponding number prefix in IMSI to a specified analysis result, and then delete the redundant numbers. If the following analysis and configuration exist: IMSI Number Analysis Result 46001 8613098765 Analysis Result Index HLRGT

If the IMSI number accessed by the network is 460011234567890, the corresponding country code is 86, and the network destination code is 130, the analysis result will be 8613098765 after the number is analyzed through the HLRGT analysis mode. This method is mainly used for the mobile network adopting the DPC+SSN routing.

1.2.3 Number of Local Area

The number section of each MSIDSN and ISDN belongs to a toll area. You can analyze each number section to an area code. The area code configuration is used to check whether the mobile or the fixed subscriber number belongs to the local area of the switch, and it further coordinates the switch to complete the toll un-authorized service. For the subscriber with Toll un-authorized function, the call is allowed only when the number prefix of the called number within the data configuration range of the local area code. ConFig the prefix of the local mobile or the fixed telephone number to distinguish the local number from all the number. It includes the following three categories: CC + local area code CC + all mobile number prefix of the local area, including the local mobile network or other mobile network
9

TN_SA001_E1_0 Digital Number Analysis

In the local mobile network, the mobile number-prefix belonging to HLR.

In which, CC is the country code of the exchange. For example, the country code of the local MSC/VLR is 86, the area code is 25, the local mobile numbers of the local network are 1390515XXXX and 1370517XXXX, and the local mobile subscriber of other networks is 13003423XXX. The configuration data are as follows: 861390515 861370517 8613003423 8625 1390515 1370517

1.2.4 Roaming Number Analysis

The function checks whether it is a roaming number. If it is a roaming number, this function checks whether the number belongs to the international roaming or the domestic roaming. This data helps VLR judge whether the mobile phone is in the roaming status in order to determine whether allows the mobile phone with the roaming restriction function to access the local switch. In the number roaming analysis, it mainly conFigs the international roaming number and the non-roaming number. For the number that is not conFigd, the system will regard it as the domestic roaming number.

1.3 GT Translation Principle

GT translation function is the SCCP layer of the No.7 signaling. GT translation mainly provides services for SCCP layer. It manages the GT translation resource and realizes the routing addressing function. GT translation mainly includes GT translation selector and GT translation data. Both GT translation selector and GT translation data belong to SCCP data configuration. The SCCP data configuration mainly works for the SCCP routing. In R4 system, the MAP signaling among the network entities, such as MSCS/VLR and the
10

Chapter 1 Number Analysis Principle

HLR, is transferred through SCCP. The entities are associated or transferred through the signaling transfer point. After receiving the message from the MAP application layer, SCCP will send, receive, and transfer these messages according to the routing label provided in the message. SCCP has two routing methods: GT routing and DPC+SSN routing. When there is the signaling transfer point between the original signaling point and the destination signaling point, there is some difference between GT routing and DPC+SSN routing. For the DPC+SSN, all the signaling (original signaling point, destination signaling point and STP) in the network can recognize the destination signaling point code. After the signaling gets to the middle node, it will be transferred by the MTP layer directly instead of the SCCP layer. Under this condition, both the original signaling point and STP need to conFig more DPC data. For the GT routing, it is used when the original signaling point and some STP do not know the destination point code of the signaling. For the GT routing, when the signaling is transferred to STP, translate GT to the destination signaling point or translate GT to the DPC of the next hop STP, and then send the message to MTP. For the GT routing, the original signaling point only needs to send the signaling to the STP of the next hop GT translation according to the prefix of GT number. And then the STP will determine whether to send the signaling to the next STP or the destination signaling point. Under this condition, both the original and the STP need to conFig more DPC data. Before configuring GT translation data, it is required to conFig GT translation selector in order to set the basic attribute of the GT translation. In general, it is required to conFig one or two GT translation selectors. One corresponds to E.164 and the other corresponds to E.214.

2.1.6 Previewing TPDNAL Result

2.1.6.1 Purpose You can only check whether the configuration of the number analysis conFigd in the background is correct during the service debugging. You can test the number analysis result through the preview test command about the number analysis provided by the background of the network management. The background inputs the number analysis selector and the number, conceives the request parameter, invokes the DB interface of the foreground, and the returns the result to the subscriber. At present, there are many kinds of number analysis: calling number analysis, called number analysis, forwarding calling number analysis, calling IMSI number analysis, called IMSI number analysis, and forwarding IMSI number analysis. It needs to allocate each number analysis with a kind of number analysis preview command. 2.1.6.2 Prerequisites To preview TPDNAL result, the following conditions must be met: The ID of the exchange to be conFigd is known.

3 Number Transform Function

3.1 Description of Number Transform
3.1.1 Description
Number transform is an important part of the number analysis. The number analysis is the core of the service flow and it controls the whole call flow. During the call, the service and the call formats are various. In different exits of the call, there may be different number formats. The number analysis of the calling side cannot complete number transform of all the interfaces. According to different judgments standard, the number transform includes the following types: According to the type, the number transform is categorized into calling number transform and the called number transform. According to the efficient, the number transform is categorized into immediate transform and delay transform. The number of the former takes effect immediately, and the number of the later takes effect on the outgoing side. According to the configuration, it also includes whether allows transforming the following calling number again and whether allows transforming the following called number again. According to the transform mode, it also includes ADD, DEL, MOD, REP and ORIGINAL. The number transform function includes the number transform of the outgoing signaling interface, the number transform of SCP interface, the number transform of MAP interface, the calling number display transform and the called number display transform.

3.1.2 Concept
Immediate transform: the transform results of the calling number and the called number are displayed in the following processing and the information record of the local office. The immediate transform takes effect immediately during the incoming

and the origination, and the transform result is used during the call. Delay transform: it takes effect on the outgoing signaling. The transform results of the calling number and the called number are not displayed. The delay transform takes effect during the outgoing. The half-call interface transfers the mark and the index of the delay transform of both the calling and the called number. The field Not allowed to transform the calling number again plays a role in the calling number immediate transform and the calling number delay transform. The field Not allowed to transform the called number again plays a role in the called number immediate transform and the called number delay transform.

3.1.3 Steps
The steps for perform the number transform according to the number transform selector are as follows: 1. Look for the configuration table of the number transform according to the number transform selector to find the analysis result of the corresponding transform number. 2. Obtain the transform mode of the code stream according to the analysis result of the number transform. 3. Perform the number transform according to the detailed transform mode of the code stream. 4. In the number transfer function, the attribute of the address transferred according to the number transfer analysis selector should refer to the Address Attribute in the configuration of number transfer analysis result. 3.1.3.1 Configuration Flow 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. transfer selector. In the number transfer analysis selector 1, transfer the number 00+CC+MS2.

3.8.2 Number Transfer Flow

1. Before sending SETUP message to MCC, it is required to query the configuration table according to the outgoing direction number in order to obtain Number transfer mode and Number transfer selector to the calling/called number. 2. 3. Transfer the number display according to the Number transfer mode. At last, invoke the database to obtain the transfer mode according to Number transfer selector and then transfer the number. After the transfer, send IAM message to the peer end office.

3.8.3 Concept Description

The type of the number is as follows: the calling number, the called number, the command number, the common number, the original called number and the redirection number. The calling number and the called number are easy to be understood. In the forwarding service, there are the original called number and the redirection number. In the intelligent service, there are the original called number, the common number and the redirection number. The concept about the international toll number, the local mobile number, non-local mobile number, the local fixed telephone number and the non-local fixed telephone number is as follows: 1. The international toll number is very simple. The CC of the international toll number is not consisted with that of the local number. 2. For the local mobile number, it is required to analyze the type of NDC. Note: the type of the NDC should be the same with the type of NDC conFigd in the local mobile data. 3. For non-local mobile number, it is required to analyze the type of NDC. Note: the type of NDC should be different from the type of NDC conFigd in the local mobile data. 4. The local fixed telephone number and the non-local fixed number is differentiated through the area code. The details are as follows:
44

Chapter 1 Number Analysis Principle

For the originating call, if it is accessed through the common domain, delete the prefix and the compare the area code with that conFigd in the local mobile data configuration. If these two area codes are consistent, it means they belong to local fixed number. Otherwise, it means the number does not belong to the local number. If the number is access from the virtual VMSC, compare the area code with that corresponds to the virtual VMSC. If these two area codes are consistent, it means the number belong to the local number. Otherwise, it means the number does not belong to the local number. For the number with no area code, if the number attribute is local, it means it is a local fixed number. If the number is a domestic toll number or a special service number, it is required to judge the area code.

4 Number Pre-analysis Function

4.1 Description of Number Pre-analysis Function
4.1.1 Function Description
Before the version V3.06.32, the number analysis is very complex. The number preanalysis function simplifies the configuration of the number analysis.

4.1.2 Configuration Rule

Before configuring the number pre-analysis, you should be familiar with the following rules about the number pre-analysis; The order of the number pre-analysis is performed before the formal number call analysis. That is to say, the number pre-analysis is done before the originating analysis, the calling analysis, the incoming calling/called analysis, the transfer of the incoming calling/called number stream. The number pre-analysis selector continues to use the resource rule of the normal number analysis selector. That is to say, the common domain can use the resource of any sub-domain, and the sub-domain can use the resource of any common domain, but the sub-domain cannot use the resource of the other subdomain. In the default number analysis template of the local office, the number analysis template of the sub-domain and the trunk, the pre-analysis selector referred all belong to the called number. If it is required to pre-analyze the calling number, set the called number pre-analysis as PRECALLED, and then obtain the calling number pre-analysis selector for the calling number pre-analysis. In the calling number pre-analysis, it is also allowed to refer the called pre-analysis selector. So, sometimes there is a circulation. If the time of the circulation is morn than 5, it is thought that the pre-analysis fails. When adding the called number pre-analysis selector, a wildcard record whose analyzed number is EEEEEE is generated. When the called number cannot match the pre-analysis number conFigd, match this record. That is to say,

EEEEEE is a wildcard number. This number can be modified, but it cannot be deleted. It will be deleted automatically when deleting the corresponding number pre-analysis selector. When adding the calling number pre-analysis selector, two records whose analyzed numbers are EEEEEE and ##EEEE are generated. When the calling number cannot match the pre-analysis number conFigd, match the number EEEEEE. That is to say, EEEEEE is a kind of wildcard record. This number can be modified, but it cannot be deleted. It will be deleted when deleting the corresponding number pre-analysis selector. When there is no calling number, match the number ##EEEE. ##EEEE can be modified and deleted. Before deleting the number pre-analysis selector whose analysis type is CALLING, it is required to delete the number pre-analysis whose analyzed number is ##EEEE. For the pre-analysis configuration about the R2 incoming mode, the minimum length of the prefix conFigd should be less than the length of the real number.
