Dear and Rev. Fr. Vicar, Animator, Youth President, Very Hearty greetings from Kalyan Eparchy Youth, Pune Zone. Thank you so much for your valuable support to the zonal activities. This letter is to inform you about the following activities of Pune Zone.

Fr. Sunny Memorial Choir Competition 2013

KEY is conducting a church choir competition at diocesian level on 9th September 2013. Apart from recognizing the contributions of late Rev. Fr. Sunny made to Pune Zone, KEY Pune is planning to conduct a separate choir competition for all the parishes in Pune Zone on 1st September 2013 at St Ursulas School Auditorium,
Nigdi, Pune.

This competition has two categories, i.e. with instruments and without instruments choir singing.
Rules and Regulations of the Church Choir Competitions, 2013 (Pune Zone)

1) Registration

Date of Registration 18th August 2013 Timings 3pm to 6pm only Registration Centers and Incharge:Pune Area Dighi Parish - Anish PCMC Area Akurdi Parish Freny Time of Registration 3PM to 6PM Registration form must be submitted Registration Fee Rs._________ for each section Amount will be updated by 11th August Whom to Contact Fr. Director/President/Secretary

2) Each Parish can participate in both with and without instrument category. (If one team participates in both sections, then they have to sing 4 different songs). Last years song cannot be repeated in the same section. 3) The team has to sing two different devotional songs in each section. The language of the song can be Malayalam/English/Hindi.

4) The participants can arrange the mike according to their convenience and no need to re-arrange before they leave the stage. 5) 10 sockets will be provided for with instrument category (7 mics and 3 sockets for instruments) and 7 mikes for the without instrument category. No extra amplifier is allowed. 6) If there is any electricity failure that particular section can be repeated. 7) Time limit: 1) without instrument category - 12 minutes (from entry to exit) 2) with instrument category - 15 minutes (from entry to exit- including the time for checking the musical instruments with sound system) If any team exceeds the time limit 1 point will be reduced for every 15 seconds. 8) Minimum number of participants 7 members in each category

9) The teams have to submit the names of the participants (with the

signature of the parish priest) and lyrics of the songs to the zonal director before 1.00 PM on 1st September 2013. Leaders/Choir Masters of the participating team MUST be present at the venue at 1.00pm on 1st September 2013 The time of competition will be from 2PM to 6PM The order of singing will be chosen by lot system.

13) Recorded music such as CD, Floppy, Pen Drive, etc. is not allowed. Also nothing to be saved in musical instruments e.g. songs, chords, karaoke, etc. If any team is judged to be playing any recorded music their Orchestration marks will be deducted (we will update you with the deduction by 11th August ) 14) No additional props are allowed on the stage apart from the mikes, instruments and singers. 15) A parish representative can assist the technician. The team can set up mike and instruments after entry. Once set and the singing starts no one is allowed to change the settings. Changes on the master control can be done if there is howling. 16) JUDGES DECISION WILL BE FINAL NO COMPLAINTS SHALL BE ENTERTAINED.

Standard dresses are suggested for the participants. Prizes will be distributed after the competition.
